Welcome to the final Friday Flower Friday Blog Hop of 2017!!
Flowers seem to be dwindling, even here on the ever-green Northy North California Coast but Mama and I found a little color when we took a field trip to Sequoia Gardens!
Mama is pretty excited, because she spent the year documenting the monthly changes the garden went through in 2017.
(look wrap up post at the beginning of the New Year)
As Mama and I roamed around the gardens, we saw a bunch of dried flowers. Mama and I agreed some of the dried flowers are almost as pretty as the live ones!
I found some pretty flowers in bloom too!
Pretty pink flowers.....
Some brilliant red Trumpet-y flowers...
...and even some little Fairy Hats!
Oh look, there is even some Holiday Color!
Pretty red and green foliage...
Some pretty red "Rosy Leave It" flowers...
We found this pretty red and white Primrose-y type flower....
...and last, but not least, we found a few hydrangea flowers surrounded by some itty bitty pink flowers!!!
Now, I'm off to write my letter to Santy Paws!!
...and I'd like a 10 foot bully stick, 87 toys and to be able to jump up on the couch and play with my brothers! |
We hope you enjoyed our December visit to Sequoia Gardens!!
Hop
aboard and show us the flowers blooming in your corner of the world (If you don't see the link here, please click HERE to go to our Hoppity page)!!
that is a super idea to take photos of all seasons and changes... your mama caught a wonderful memory with her cam that way
ReplyDeleteYou found lots of pretty flowers, Rosy! Great idea about the 10 foot bullystick. I'm putting that on my list too!
ReplyDeleteEverything is dead as a door nail around here in December, but many of us have some landscaping that has dried flowers that do look nice during the winter months.
ReplyDeleteYou found so much beautiful color for the time of the year and i love the dried flowers most of all. flowers don't have to be blooms to be beautiful

ReplyDeleteYour mama has kept a brilliant record of the gardens, Rosy; and you found some truly beautiful things to show us today. That first pink flower is abutilon. Not sure about the red or purple ones, but then you met the pelargoniums and the 'primrosey' is actually dianthus aka Pink, a relative of carnation. I too like the dried seed-heads of plants. They are statuesque. Like you with that hat on... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

It's hard to imagine you still can find flowers blooming outside when we are in the teens with snow on the ground around here. Needless to say there are no flowers blooming outside where we are.

Mmm, wondering if we could plant "Dougie Leave It" flowers in our yard next spring, they might be in the same botanical family as the "Rosy Leave It" ones ...
ReplyDeleteVery nice, we still have flowers some outside and some in the greenhouse but we forgot to share them. We will try to do better next month.
