Goodbye May

I have something I need to say
I really, really won't miss May
It started with my silly eye
I get unending drops, don't ask me why.

And then if that alone didn't make me bitchy
Along it came, the allergy itchy!
Back and forth to the Vet I was sent
Mama's wallet now has a big dent!

In May there was only a single upside,
I did get to go for lots of car rides!
I admit I saw nature from lots of sides
and even saw my ocean at low and high tides!

There is one more good thing that happens in May

In just two days it will be my birthday!

I wonder where we'll happen to be

 I hope Mama and Daddy take me on a trip to the sea!

 So I say goodbye to you May
you'll be gone very soon,
I'm looking forward to a quiet 
and peaceful June!!

Thankful Thursday

Rosy here today, reporting from my favorite place to spend time while Mama and Daddy are home:

....I see everything going on outside our front door! Being the excellent guard dog that I am, I always make sure to bark REAL LOUD when someone is walking anywhere near

at our front yard door.

Shhhhhh, don't tell anyone, but sometimes I even take a nap

on the bottom step.

I am so thankful to have such a cool place to hang out!!

Left Over Flower Nature Friday

Zooooom! This week sure did go by fast, don't you think?? Mama has been busy flitting around. Taking Arty to the doctor in Oregon again, plus, she's making mysterious phone calls about some super secret surprise coming in June...Hmmm, wonder what she's up to?!  

Anyway, I was looking through Mama's camera and it seems she had some leftover pictures from Sequoia Gardens. No time like the present to take a look at them:

Let's start with the flowers Mama has no idea what to call...

Like these pretty hanging lantern-y flowers

...this little purple puffball flower

OH...I know this one Mama....

It's a calla lily! What's that inside, little cherry blossom petals?

Leave it to Mama to get all artistic!!

Now...the rest of the flowers are some of Mama's most favorites, 

Columbines!!!

Pretty purple ones with white edging...

Yellow and white edges...

White with purple edging...

White with pink edging....

Pink and red.....

...and finishing off with a beautiful pale yellow columbine!!

Miss Kitty and I are hoping you all get to take some time for a nice nature walk this weekend. Our state parks opened up for day use yesterday, so I'm hoping the rain stays away and we can enjoy some sunshine and flowers!

from Mama: Arty has been suffering from a horrible allergy season this year.  We have been back and forth to the vet because of his issues and how to treat them. We are very thankful that with weekly baths and topical sprays, he seems to be on the mend. Between allergies and his eye issues, the poor little guy has been through a bunch this Spring.

 Hey Arty, want to hear a funny pirate joke I heard when I was out on my last adventure??

Sure Captain Monkey, let's hear it!

 

 OK, here it is:

A pirate and a sailor were exchanging stories. The sailor pointed to the pirate’s peg leg and asked, “How did you get that?”

The pirate said, “Aye, I wrestled a shark and lost me leg.”

WOW! his leg?!?!?!

The sailor pointed to the pirate’s hook and asked, “How did you get that?”

The pirate said: “Aye, I fought Red Beard’s crew and lost me hand.”

Eeewwwwwww!!! Yucky!!!

The sailor pointed to the pirate’s eye patch and asked, “How did you get that?”

The pirate said, “Aye, a bird came by and left droppings in me eye.”

The sailor said, “That’s not as impressive as the other two. …”

“Aye,” the pirate answered. “It was me first day with the hook.”

BOLBOL!!

It's Friday again, already???

Hi all, Fiona here with an flower update

from Sequoia Park Gardens.

I'm  happy to report the purple columbines are blooming, as are  these pretty blue flowers where I am sitting.

The cherry blossoms are starting to loose their petals.

The Wisteria is in full bloom....and smells sooooo good!

Wow...so much is blooming Fiona!

There really is Rosy! The Snapdragons look so beautiful don't you think?? They even match my feathers!
