Backyard Blackbirds

This Winter has brought a BUNCH of blackbirds to our yard. They are loud and eat like little piggies at the bird feeders. Rosy and I like to chase them off, but these thug birds always come back with reinforcements. Mama says most of them are Grackles and some are Red Winged Blackbirds, we think they all should be called "Annoying Birds"! As you might be able to tell, they are not our favorite feathered friends BOL.

Today, for Backyard Wildlife Wednesday, we have some video TC took of these bossy birds taking over the fountain:

Luckily, these loud birdies usually only stay for the Winter and then head to their Summer homes although we hope to chase them away a bit early this year!

We are joining Sandee at Comedy Plus for the
Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop this week!

My goodness they are busybodies, eh? I think the Weims are mistaking your Grackles for our Starlings. They look and act very similarily, but are actually two very different families and not even cousins in nature. However, everywhere there are species that form which fill certain spaces. Clearly Grackles and Starlings are those! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  3. Yesterday in the the middle of a snowstorm we had ducks sitting in our backyard. So weird. Since we are not into birds, we don't pay much attention to them. The cats we had loved to look at them and at that time we had feeders to attract them for the cats.

  9. we have crows, red wing black birds, grackles, 2 different colors of grackles. l like the purple grackles looks. they don't bother us except they are noisy because we have no food/water or cats and The Dog pays them no mind at all... I can see why they are a pest, and also why they love your fountain... you two are beyond cute

  11. Keep chasing them, Sunny. If they have kids, kill them. Angel Lexi caught a half grown baby bird once. It did not survive the encounter. XOXOX Chia
