Spotted Towhee at the Block

Since Mama put up "Bird Block Theatre" in the backyard, we have been lucky enough to see a few close ups of the Spotted Towhees residing in our backyard.

This is pretty cool because we can get a look, not only of their pretty feathers, but of their striking red eyes too!

Mama is a bit obsessed, mostly because they are the most colorful bird in the yard right now.

Some of you have asked if the birdseed block has
brought the sneaky squirrel from next door.

Well, we have been lucky and haven't seen him in a few months. Of course, Daddy filled in all the spaces under the fence leading to Sneaky Squirrel's yard but he also might just be staying warm in his garage for the Winter.

Either way, Mama is hoping we are safe from he and his friends until Spring, when we close "Bird Block Theatre" and open the fountain!

We are joining Sandee at Comedy Plus for the
Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop this week!

Oh I enjoyed that, thanks Sunny. Mr Twohee is rather handsome - but all the sparrows were fun, too! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  4. Squirrels can climb anything so they could easily go over a fence but maybe they have not yet caught the scent of the seed block. We've never heard of such a bird before so it is something new.

  5. Mr Twohee is perfect match to the 'block' if he stood still in front of it. he is quite the little piglet when it comes to eating... I like their small chirping sounds...

  9. I love your backyard and your birds. I'm glad dad took care of the fence so the squirrel is elsewhere.

  12. Chia: Hey Sunny, are you playing Viking? Do you get a sword, too? That's one cool bird! I guess it's up too high for you to catch it, huh? XOXOX

  13. It's such a blessing to feed the birds a few times a week in winter, when food is scarce. The squirrels enjoy it, too, although the one there may be sleeping and eating only stored nuts and seeds.
