Turtle Tuesday Happies

So Mama made her way to the ABQ Zoo last week for her Spring visit. This visit she concentrated on animals that are in natural habitats. Today, we have a few pictures and a short video of
a humungous turtle!

It's fancy name is a Galapagos Giant Tortoise. They can live to over 100 years old in the wild and even longer in captivity.

He really enjoys eating grass....

A WHOLE LOT of grass(along with fruit and other greens)! They can reach over 900 pounds tho, so I guess he has to eat a bunch of grass!

Here is a short video of him eating...

Just look at his looooong neck!

Thanks for joining us for a look at the Giant Galapagos Tortoise.
We hope it put a little happy in your day :-)

We are joining Sandee at Comedy Plus for the
Happy Tuesday Blog Hop this week!

  2. We are scared of turtles which we rarely see and they are not very big but they are creepy. When Mom was diving years ago her instructor told her to hold the shell on a big turtle underwater in the ocean, then he tapped it and it swam away pulling her along. She said it was so fun but other than that, turtles are rather odd creatures.
