Travel Tuesday - Austin, Texas

Earlier this Spring Mama and Daddy made a quick trip down to my hometown

AUSTIN,  TEXAS!! 

(In case you didn't know, I was born in College Station, TX and raised in Austin)

Everybody is always so friendly in Texas, even the garbage containers have big smiles on their faces!!

Daddy had a "busy-ness" conference at a big ranch hotel called Lost Pines!

They were there at the very beginning of May and couldn't believe it was cold enough for a

fire in the fireplace. Mini Me and I thought this would be a nice place to relax and catch up
(thanks to the magic of Pizap!)

They had beautiful trees and trails,

A great big golf course,

and Mama really enjoyed the rocking chairs overlooking the Guadalupe River!!!

There was bunches of wildlife on the ranch too!!

Here is Mama's good friend the road runner. This little guy ran back in forth in front of their

room for the whole 4 days they were there!

Here is a guy who looks just like Bevo...the mascot for the University of Texas Longhorns!

He hung out in a field in back of the ranch!

Mama said the squirrels were everywhere...and made sure we knew this would be a great place

to come back for Ruby's Squirrel Roping!!

Now this squirrel will be a real challenge to rope!! 

Things are always bigger in Texas, you know!

Mama and Daddy made sure to visit their favorite Tex Mex and BBQ restaurants while they were in town!!

Mama and Daddy had a blast on their trip....

Eight Photos of Happiness

Cole is a very special person not only because she has a wonderful pack of dachshunds that she loves very much BUT,  she also created and runs Little Paws Dachshund Rescue (a nonprofit rescue organization that helps dachshunds over on the east coast)!!!

This is one of my (Dory's) favorite because it reminds me of all

my bloggy friends. This was one of the first pictures I had as a header for my bloggy!!

 

This is one of my (Bilbo's) favorite pictures because it was before the days of BATHS and GROOMERS ..when I could just let my freaky furs fly!!

 

 Here is one of my (Mama Beth's) favorite pictures. I remember how happy I was on the day Dory came to live with us

(although she was a bit miffed at me for giving her a bath).

This picture makes me (Arty) happy because I just love to run and play outside!!!

 

Hey Mama and Daddy...you both look pretty silly (and happy) under the sea!!!

 Jakey is always happy when he is running to greet Daddy!!!

 

 Here is another favorite, because we just LOVE meeting new friends!

Ziggy, Angel Sasha's brother...because Mama squees everytime she sees him and that makes us happy!

Mitch and Molly.....because their pictures from the eastern part of the USA always make Mama smile!

Mini Dory - Flower Friday

I thought we would give everyone a sneak peak of

Why thank you Big Dory!

We found leftover Bluebonnets while I was in Texas. It was the last week in April, so we were lucky because  most of them were already gone!

Here is a pink lace cactus flower I found growing out of a rock!!

Look at this pretty yellow prickly pear cactus bloom!

The place we were staying had freshly planted beautiful pink zinnias!!

These may be False Day Flowers, but Mama isn't sure!

Isn't this pink hibiscus flower just beautiful?!!

Just look at this cute little yellow daisy!!!

Thankful Thursday!

Today I, Dory,  wanted to thank Deborah over at Pug Possessed. She donated this Dog Bow Tie Collar for Girls to the auction that was held to help Amber's peeps out. I had Mama bid on it, and she WON!!!! Right before Mama and Daddy left for vacation, I received this custom made collar. This week,  I FINALLY had Mama take pictures of me with it on!

I just love the way it matches my fluffy pink skirt!
