Welcome to our final Thursday Tail for 2016. This week we are going to share the beautimous state of Oregon with you. Since we live so close to Oregon and have done a few posts on it before, some of these sights might look a bit familiar!
We did get to drive through the eastern part of Oregon which we had never seen before!
This is where we stopped at one of the only inland Rest Areas!
It was raining, so Mama didn't get to get any pictures of us posing outside...In fact, is was raining so hard, she is lucky we went outside at all!
from the Mama: We drove through rain showers for most of our drive over the Blue Mountains and the interior Rest Areas, the one Rest Area where we did stop was under construction. This rest area was well patrolled and safe it wasn't as clean as the previous rest areas in Idaho but not as dirty as some of the California Rest Areas.
Oregon is probably one of our favorite states because it has a little bit of everything! From mountains to the ocean...cities to country, you can find it all in Oregon!
In eastern Oregon they had lots of trees, mountains and very cool bridges like this one!
We told Mama that we have to bring Daddy back to Eastern Oregon so we can go on some of these trails when it isn't rainy!
Aren't the trees and flowers pretty??!!
Once we were over the mountains we followed the Columbia River, which also has cool bridges...
..and artsy views for Mama to take pictures of!!
Here is Horsetail Falls, about 40 minutes or so east of Portland!!
We stayed overnight in a La Quinta in Salem, Oregon right outside of Portland.
For some reason we didn't take any pictures of it or us in it.
From Mama: The LQ in Salem, OR was not one of my favorites. The parking was wacky (hard to get in and out of parking spaces), it was right next to a Costco (the parking lots were connected) and there wasn't any place close to safely take Dory and Arty on a longer walk. If you are ever in this area, and want to stay at a LQ, I would recommend the Woodburn, LQ and not this one. Better yet, go visit Wyatt's Blog
his peeps have stayed at some great dog friendly hotels in Oregon!

The next day we continued west, making a short stop for Mama to see this cool Covered Bridge! They have lots of Covered Bridges in Oregon and we have heard Mama talking about a "Covered Bridge Tour" she might be taking us on soon!! Something to look forward to reading about in the 2017 Travel Tail season!!
Finally, we made it to Arty's Ocean!!
Oregon has some of the most breath taking views of Arty's ocean!!
...and I bet you'll never guess what else they have lots of...
Yep...LIGHTHOUSES!!! This is the Yaquina Head Lighthouse
This is Mama's favorite Oregon Lighthouse,
the Hacida Head Lighthouse!
the Hacida Head Lighthouse!
Mama took lots and lots of pictures.
I know how surprised everyone is to hear that, BOL

Looks like Oregon is a fun place to be! I've stayed in a LaQuinta the night before a dog show in Alabama...because of it's dog friendly policy, the next morning when my mom took me out to pee before the show, there were literally dozens of show dogs also going out! It was a cool sight to see!
