Hi Everypawdy! Rosy here to share a few of the Monday Memories from Route 66 in Williams AZ!
Mama and I took a stroll down Historic 66 and saw a few interesting sights!
Mama loved all the kitchie, over the top signs.
They had an old theatre....
...with a VERY scary watch bear!!
Stay back, Mama, I'll protect you!!
After I subdued the scary bear, we continued our walk and admired how clean(and empty) the street was!
Look who else we saw along the way...The King of Rock himself, Elvis Presley!
Mama insisted on an ussie with him...Luckily, he didn't seem to mind!
It seems Route 66 is known for car stuff, like decorative gas station..
...and old cars like this one.
They even had a mural of this cool sports car!
Sorry Buddy, Mama said never to go on rides with strangers!
This old gas pump was sitting right along side the
modern gas pumps!
This old gas station has been painted to look like an Old West hitching station!
Mama and I really enjoyed the part of Route 66! Thanks for joining us along our walk, we'll be back with more of our road trip real soon!!
oooh many many thanks for such a fabulous tour!!! we love the bear and the old theater... you picked the best parts of this famous route...

You and your mom sure found some cool things along Route 66. It looks like a fun place to take a walk.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back, Rosie. That bear looks like it has vampire teeth *shudder*. You are very brave, protecting your Mama. Someone needs to tell Elvis that cigarettes cause cancer.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, thanks for the trip down Route 66 memory lane!
Love all the Route 66 memorabilia. (Gail tells me she was near Route 66 when she lived in Oklahoma and worked for Phillips Petroleum, whose logo is a 66 of course).
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!

ReplyDeleteRosy, thanks for sharing your fun on part of Route 66 - brought along a lot of memories for the Momster.
ReplyDeleteWe laughed when you said you weren't supposed to ride with strangers. Last week our neighbor dogs got out of the yard and no one was home at their house. Mom spent about an hour looking for them and finally caught up with when they were actually close to home. The owner had told Mom they would get in Mom's car if she called to them. Well, that wasn't happening - they must have been told the same thing about getting in stranger's cars. So Mom just rolled her window down and called their names, Oliver and Dodger, all the way down our street - and those two boys followed her all the way down the street to their yard:)

ReplyDeleteMama wishes they would decorate old abandoned buildings efurywhere like they do there. It would make it looks so much prettier.
