We're continuing down the coast today to Ventura, California and our stay(s) at the Historic Pierpont Inn.
I was pretty excited when I found we were staying in our very own cottage!
The Rose Garden Cottage was built in 1925, but don't worry, it has had a few renovations since then.
BOL!
The Rose Garden Cottage is one of two cottages that are separate from the main hotel and were very private. The interior is dated, but very quaint and the price was the same as a regular room.
Come on in, and let me show you around and you can see it for your self!
The living room has a big picture window looking out at the beautimous rose garden!
The kitchen window looked out on the back porch! Yep, we had a back porch where Mama and I ate our dinners!
Although it is now a part of the Wyndham Hotel chain, the Pierpont Inn was once a fancier stopping point for those lucky enough to be able to drive their cars along the California coast in the early 1900s! Now a Historic Landmark, it also may be haunted by those who built and first ran the hotel! Mama found THIS ARTICLE which she says, if she would have read before we left...we may have never stayed there BOL! Mama also found THIS VIDEO if you want to watch more about the Pierpont Inn's History.

But the bestest part was the fireplaces there was one in the living room AND one in the bedroom!
After a long day on the road, it was nice to relax in front of the fireplace on a chilly night!
Here is a short a video tour Mama filmed:

ReplyDeleteWhat a cozy place to stay! Man wouldn't like it as it had a kitchen and on vacation he likes to be away from them 😜
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place to stay when traveling with a dog. You have your own space and can go pee right outside the door!
ReplyDeletethat is a pefect little cottage and i could live in it. love the video view, especailly those rafters. i am thinking you were both safe from the 'hauntings' because you were in the cottage not the Inn. i am betting those ghosties only haunt the Inn. he he he

Arty, we love the video. You looked very comfortable and at home in Rose Cottage.
ReplyDeleteArty what a gorgeous Inn you and Momma found...Heck even if there had been a few ghosts I think it was well worth the adventure. OMDs I hope Rosy Sassypants doesn't see that gorgeous bedroom and bed suitable for a Princess. It might get her Sassypants in a wad. Just a lovely time for you and momma in celebration of your bday month too.
