Glitz Makes You Sick
by Rosy
Two weeks before Christmas and the pawrents are amped
Talk of birthdays and travels and us going to camp
We tried to tell them their fate
Of partying, taking pictures and staying up late
We even told them both "You're getting to old"
You see, we knew for sure they both would get colds!
But they ignored us all, and left anyway
Why is it they never listen to what we say?
They drank too much wine and walked through the night
Not taking the time to eat or sleep right.
Seems we were right again and weren't surprised
When they came to get us last Monday and we looked in their eyes.
then noticed the sniffles and both their noses
were running like faucets and redder than roses!
Oh well, seems the grownups need some glamour and glitz,
even though they come home sick!
Show
us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a
picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE
to our Hoppity Page.
Well, it's what they get for not staying home wif YOU. BOL. Seriously though, hope they feel better.
ReplyDeleteTalk about just deserts. Or should that be just too many desserts...
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.
What a beautiful place but not worth it when you come home sick. Are you dressed in your nurses outfit, Rosy? We hope your peeps feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteWe saw your parents partying it up on FB, so we knew you guys were at camp. Luckily, Mom doesn't like to travel, she traveled for most of her life, so she stays at home unless we go to dog sports which is more fun than regular travel we think. Hope your parents are feeling better.

ReplyDeleteOMD, the lurgy!!! All my siblings have been sick - twice - already this month. I am putting up my arms and waving my wishes that I, too, don't end up with snishes!!! I send some POTP to your peeps - even if they did abandon you for all that glitzy mischief!!! (And belated felicitations to your mum.) I am sure you all forgave them and snuggled extra as the healing dogs you are. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Apaws, apaws, apaws. Great poem and prediction. We bet they didn't learn their lesson, though. XOX Xena and Lucy
ReplyDeleteOh no not the vacation sickies!! Flying this time of year is always a gamble. I'm hopeful they are feeling better and if so you need to remind them next time when there is a raise of paws to who thinks they should stay or go. Your 12 paws outnumber them.
ReplyDeleteI love momma's FFF and it was kinda poetic too.
Healing hugs HiC
so sorry they got sick, but it sure gave you a wonderful story to tell us in poem form. great job Rosy. hope they feel better soon and I am glad you are all back home together...
ReplyDeleteWe loved your poem. Too bad your pawrents didn't listen to you and stayed home instead of running off to catch a cold. BOL!
ReplyDeleteBOL! I wouldn't feel sorry for them either, after they ignored your warning!
ReplyDeleteWarnings are meant to be adhered too and when they aren't this happens. Let's just say it turned out to make for good blog fodder. I hope they are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteHave a woof woof day and weekend. Healing hugs to the peeps. ♥
Sounds like self-inflicted misery....and they did abandon you. Don't waste your sympathy. (Great poem by the way)
ReplyDeleteBummer on the parents getting sick. It's the time of year when those nasty bugs seem to be floating around just waiting to nail some unsuspecting poor soul.
ReplyDeleteBeing sick sucks just saying, have a good weekend
ReplyDeleteSometimes you have to throw caution to the wind and just have fun! Hope they feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteSometimes pawty happens a bit too much, but you're awfully cute Rosy!
ReplyDeleteIt's not fair that grown-ups can't have some fun without ending up sick!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I've had two colds this winter already, and I didn't even have much fun. LOL

Your poem is awesome! We tend to end up sick after holiday fun too! I sure hope that your parents are feeling better. And I bet that you're glad to be home!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great poem. My parents don't got out and get sick anymore. They can do it at home for free.
ReplyDeleteSeems like the right price to pay for leaving you at camp. Lady had a small cold over the holidays. She is grateful it was not the stomach bug others had. Hope your peeps feel better soon.

ReplyDeleteWell it does serve them right for leaving you at camp
