Sunny here, I know I was suppose to bring you colorful blossoms this week BUT, I thought it would be more fun to show you pictures of some green plants to help celebrate
St. Pawtrick's Day coming up next week!
Luckily, I found pictures of some cool desert green plants on Mama's phone!!
Mama says this is a garden of desert type plants native to California. She found it when visiting a park by the State Capitol Building in Sacramento.
Just look at all the different greens!
From the blueish green succulents to the yellow-y green cactus!
I like the star pattern left when they trimmed this cactus. The green edges and little circle in the middle cool, don't you think?
Those pickers on that cactus sure are pointy.
I wonder what they taste like
Mmmmmmmm
This cactus had little yellow flowery bits on the end. Mama told me those pickers would really hurt if I tried to take a nibble though.
Mama also says she is VERY glad we don't have any pointy cactus in the backyard...something about me nibbling on EVERYTHING.
Whatever Mama...let's move on
Isn't this succulent interesting? I really liked the green and yellow stripes on all the leaves!
Let's wrap the week up with this beautimous flowering Aloe. Don't the orange points look pretty next to the green??
It kinda matches my Lepra-Gnomes bandana!!
Thanks so much for joining me this week on Nature Friday, Jakey will be back next week with some pretty flowers for Nature Friday!!
we never saw such an aloe... it is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are such cool plants, and Sunny, you look so adorable in your St Paddy's Day outfit.
ReplyDeleteHappy Nature Friday.

ReplyDeleteOOOOHHHH, I loves desert plants and this would be my kind of garden to visit! Thank for sharing it with us sunny - and my post today is also green!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Mom used to have a cactus in the house and her cat would fight with it. She says it was pretty funny to watch.
ReplyDeleteWe love that aloe. Mom wishes hers would get that big, but thinks it never will in a pot in the house, and thinks it might die if she plants it outside. Even more, we love seeing you, Sunny, in your pretty St. Patty's day accessories. And remember, don't try to eat the cactus! XOX Lucy and Xena
ReplyDeleteNiece Sunny I am a lover of succulents too. However, I have never EVER been to a park of full of them. What a great idea for low maintenance and very HIGH beauty
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking Momma and I do love your St. Pat's attire.
Hugs Aunty HiC
Nobody will be pinching THOSE guys on St. Patrick's Day!
ReplyDeleteOh such a wonderful Nature Friday and you're the centerpiece. Just saying.
ReplyDeleteHave a woof woof day and weekend. My best to your siblings and your mom. ♥
Gorgeous succulents, and epically prickly too! The flowering aloe is totally terrific and puts our little plant to shame MOL MOL! Mew look adorable in your costume sweetie and thanks for hosting! XX
ReplyDeleteWe admit to being "green with envy" over the many wondrous plants in your corner of the world ... and Sunny you are the prettiest "planted" among them!
ReplyDeleteSuch nice photos, there are such lovely shades of green
ReplyDeleteMom likes succulents too because of all the different shades of green. We think Timber might be tempted to try those cacti too, but we bet you would both decide very quickly not to take a second taste:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Those succulents were quite pawsome, Sunny. Glad your mama kept you from doing any tasting. Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love those desert plants, Sunny! We see many of them on our desert trips, and I can guarantee you that the pups learn not to touch those plants very very fast. You'd learn too! The blooming Aloe is glorious! Happy St. Pawtrick's Day!
ReplyDeleteThe succulents and cactus are so pretty but that Aloe flower is just outstanding!
ReplyDeleteWow! Those are some beautiful plants! My Florida associate, Miss Charlee's humans have succulents and cacti growing in their garden too. But nothing as spectacular as the ones in your pictures! Miss Charlee says that you really don't want to nibble on those prickly plants because you'll get an owie!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the green before St Patrick's Day
ReplyDeleteOMD, aren't our succulents FABulous??! Ma's aloe plant(s) haven't flowered yet, butts I've got my paws crossed! You look adorables in your St. Paddy's day bandana gurl!
ReplyDeleteSendin' love and {{{hugs}}} up there, and hopes things are goin' well!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Lulu: "Hmm, so that's where toothpicks come from ..."
ReplyDeleteWe are more than happy to see the greens, since we have no color here at all! Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you! ♥
ReplyDeleteTerrific greens! We are starting to see all the snow melt up here but not too much green yet (except the pine trees) We have cactus here but they are nowhere neat that big.
