On Saturday, January 15th, Mama packed us(and a bunch of other stuff) into the Rogue and we took off for New Mexico.
Unlike other road trips, this one was mostly driving "to get there." It had been a long time since we had all seen Daddy, and we were more than ready to start our new adventure!
We did try to make sure Mama stopped to enjoy some of the journey, though.
For instance, we have passed this restaurant lots of times when we traveled south on Interstate 5 in California. Mama always said she wanted to stop and take pictures of it. This time, we made sure she stopped because we didn't know when we would be there again.
"Why would she want to stop here?" you might ask....
Because it's the only wind mill Mama has ever seen in California.
BOL!!!!
Sunny offered to drive when Mama got back in the car. Unfortunately, she doesn't have her driver's license, so Mama said no.
After we left California, the rest of the drive was on I-40, which runs parallel to(and sometimes merges with) Highway 66.
Rosy has made lots of stops along the historic part of Route 66, but on this trip she was in a big hurry to see Daddy(we hadn't seen him in 2 weeks).
You can visit Rosy's last Route 66 post HERE
We stopped at some very pretty Rest Areas
and spent lots of time on the open road!
....and after asking "Are we there yet?" like a million times....
We finally arrived in New Mexico!!
We are looking forward to showing you all around our new state. But first, Mama says she has a bunch of unpacking to do(Our furniture should be here today!!). So we'll be showing you things from around our temporary home and backyard.
But don't worry, soon we'll get to see(and show you) just how enchanting the Enchanted State is!!
We are joining Sandee at Comedy Plus for the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop this week!
that is so beautiful... your land is amazing and we love to hear more about your new state...

ReplyDeleteOh wow... it's all becoming real now!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
I remember that pea soup sign! I've also seen the windmill and done the puzzle of it! I'm excited to see your "new" adventures ... I've never been to New Mexico!
ReplyDeleteThat restaurant sure has a funny sign. We enjoyed today's travelogue and can't wait to learn more about New Mexico.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhh what a fun post. Bye Bye CA Howdy New Mexico.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for making sure Mama stopped to see pea soup and the Windmill (which by the way looks a lot like the Lighthouses Mama and I do so love). Route 66 and CHiPS were two of my favorite tv shows.
Yippe Skippy you 5 are together. Now today make sure the movers put everything in the right place...a big job requires lots of treats
Hugs Cecilia

Such beautiful scenery, thank you for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteWe are loving seeing all the beautiful mountains and landscape and we can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteBummer you have to do a double move, but hopefully you will find just the right house quickly and get settled into it soon. Sometimes we like to just drive and get there without so many stops, especially if we have driven that route before. Enjoy your new surroundings.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Land of Enchantment...one of the prettiest places around. I love those wide open vistas when you drive into the state.
ReplyDeleteMoving is hard work! (That's why we've stayed in this house for over 40 years!)
ReplyDeleteLove the beautiful scenery on this post!
