Thankful for Football Thursday

Happy Opening Day for the 2025 NFL season!  (American) Football  sure has changed for our pawrents over the years. After spending years just routing for one team, it seems they now cheer for different players on their different "Fantasy" football teams. For example, Mama has Saquon Barkley, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, so she'll be routing for them tonight. This is weird since she used to only route for the New York Giants. 

Luckily, she has more than one player on her "fantasy" team that play for the 49ers team cause Sunny says she will always route for the Red and Gold!

Mostly, I am just thankful that there will be more couch snuggle time with LOTS of football snacks!!


Let's just keep it down though and take it easy on those HBO words, ok Mama??

    There is only one team at our house and it is the Vikings, even though they tend to be the biggest losers, they are our team. We don't like the Eagles, they are mean and nasty but if your mom only likes one player, that isn't so bad. It's time to play ball, y'all!

    You two are so cute getting ready for the football season. Our mom won't route for any team other than the Buffalo Bills. Maybe that's why she never got into the fantasy football stuff.

    I twisted my ankle (really bad) last night. Spent the morning at my doc's office getting it checked out and xrays
    It is better today and she doesn't think it is broken. Hope to hear from xrays tomorrow

    Fantasy football has added a new dimension.

    One of my favorite “Children’s Letters to God” in the book by that name was, “Dear God, Is it true Daddy won’t get into heaven if he uses his bowling words in the house?”

    Oh shoot, I missed Thursday's game. Hopefully I'll be able to catch a couple games over the weekend. I used to be much more religious about watching football till I became a hockey fan. Now it's puck time that makes me happy. I think the swear jar needs to be bigger though. 🤣
