Thankful for Sweet Thursday Noises

Today, on Thankful Thursday, I have one of mine and Mama's favorite birds, the Sandhill Crane!

I am thankful they fly high in the sky and don't land in our yard.
Mama is thankful for their sweet cooing cries when they are flying around.

Here give it a listen:

What do you mean you wish my barking talking was as sweet to the ears as theirs, Mama??

Thank you to Maxwell and Angel Brian for hosting the

Oh yes, that's lovely - a murmuring warble, which I found unexpected - though I'm not sure what I thought they would sound like! Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx

  2. We just hear the usual tweeting birds sometimes, no special tweeting going on around here.

  3. Mom remembers these birds in FL when she visited with her mom and dad but she only remembers them walking around and never flying.

  5. I never knew what those birds sounded like. It sure is a different call than anything we hear around here. That sure was rude of your mom to say she doesn't like the way you "talk", Sunny.

  7. Aren't they fabulous? Last weekend was the Sandhill Crane Festival in Monte Vista and my son went to check it out at the wildlife refuge. It definitely didn't disappoint!

  12. Java Bean: "Ayyy, those cranes sound a little bit like Oona when she is asking Mama and Dada to pet her!"
Oona: "OONA DOES NOT ASK TO BE PET!!! She invites Mama and Dada to stroke her fur when she senses that they need stress relief."
Lulu: "Well that's very sweet of you, Oona."
Oona: "OR WHEN SHE WANTS TO BITE THEM!!!"
Lulu: "Okay, a little less sweet that time ..."
