Welcome to another episode of Nature Friday! Today, I'm coming to you from the beautiful Humboldt Botanical Gardens! Summer is in full swing, the sun has stayed out and everything is blooming like crazy!! Take a look at what we saw this visit!!
We started by walking by a Kousa Dogwood tree covered in blooms!!
Such beautiful blooms, don't you think??
We passed this pretty flutterby...
Mama thinks it might be a pale swallowtail butterfly
and look, a wild rosy rose!
Mama says it reminded her of her own wild Rosy, teeheehee. I think she might mean ME, BOL!
Look over there!
A beautiful white poppy, and.....
TIGER LILIES!! Aren't they pretty??
Such vibrant reds and oranges against the green...
I think they were my favorite flower at the garden this visit!!
I hope you enjoyed our little walk around the Humboldt Botanical Gardens this week. We hope to come back to take another walk around the garden in search of Rosy Roses in a few weeks!
Don't forget to find time and stop and smell the flowers this weekend!
Show
us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a
picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE to go to our Hoppity Page.
oh we never saw white poppies... that is just beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Rosy!
ReplyDeleteGail and I absolutely ADORED your walk in the Botanical Gardens. The tiger lilies are stunning. As for Wild Rosy, I think your Mama must mean some other dog. You are looking most demure, sitting there in your pretty pink bow and bandana.
Happy Nature Friday.
Toodle pip!

What gorgeous flowers and yes, we do love the Kousa Dogwood but our favorite is that beautiful white Poppy!
ReplyDeleteI will be a cheerleader, but Olivia will be sniffing for birch at her nose work trial this weekend. Very pretty place to go for a walk, and lovely flowers.
ReplyDeleteDearest niece Rosy thank you for sharing this Kousa Dogwood tree. It is a new one to me.
ReplyDeleteThe leaves are so shiny unlike the Dogwoods of NC. The gardens are spectacular the curly Tiger lily pedals seem very happy too

ReplyDeleteLove those Tiger Lilies. We have regular ones in our garden and they seem to droop two minutes after blooming. Yours looked much better. Well done Rosy for picking them out.

I love that we have our own trees! Those dogwood flowers are very pretty, but they don't look much like dogs.

Mom love the dogwoods. They bloom here in the spring and don't last long enough. And we all love tiger lilies - the colors really are beautiful. Thank you for the garden tour, Rosy.
