Nature Friday - A Ride to the Divide

 

Welcome to Nature Friday where we get to meet new friends and share a picture or two of what nature looks like around Blogville.  

Before we get started, I wanted to thank everyone for all the well wishes. My back is feeling a little better every day and I am almost done taking all my meds(which make me feel wonky). Nobody is sure how I hurt my back. I have always been what Daddy calls, a "leaping gnome" and jump down from the bed, the couch and other places humans think are too high. The pawrents think I may have landed wrong after one of my leaps.....

Needless to say, Mama says I won't be leaping anymore.

Anyways....today, for Nature Friday, we have some leftover Colorado pictures from a ride the pawrents took to see another part of the Continental Divide.

Thankful Thursday - What a Month!

This week I am thankful for cozy places to recuperate from what has been a topsy turvy October so far. 

At the beginning of October I had my teefies cleaned and, while they were cleaning, they noticed 4 of my toofies were in bad shape so they pulled them. Needless to say, this was not fun! 

But the fun just kept on coming, the Monday after that I didn't feel like doing anything and wouldn't eat or drink. Tuesday, Mama took me back to the Dogtur! After spending the WHOLE day with them poking, prodding, and taking X-Rays, they told Mama I sprained my back! They put me on yucky medicine that makes me sleepy and told Mama I have to stay floor level, and NO WALKIES for SIX WEEKS!

I am thankful that Mama made me this comfy spot to recuperate. I am also thankful that I am feeling better and that Mama will give me elevator rides up (and back down) on the couch to snuggle.

I guess this is what they mean when they say, 

"Getting Old isn't for Sissies"

Travel Tuesday - Pagosa Springs

Happy Travel Tuesday!! 

This week, we borrowed some of Mama's phone pictures to tell you a little about the town of Pagosa Springs, where we stayed a few weeks ago!

Pagosa Springs is home to over 200 hot springs. In fact the name Pagosa is based on the Native American Ute peoples name for spring, "pagwoosa". How cool is that?!

The springs are said to have a healing power when you soak in them. Mama mentioned that would be very hard for her to do because they are sulphur springs. This means they smelled so bad it was hard for her to even get close to them. She did say the smell didn't stop lots of other people from trying them out.

We guess Pagosa Springs is a pretty town, even if it is a little stinky.

Plus, it made a great place to stay while we explored the southern Rocky Mountains!

This weekend we are heading out for another ArCee adventure, this time to Gallup, New Mexico. 

We can't wait!!

Hiking to Treasure Falls on Nature Friday

 

 Welcome to Nature Friday where we get to meet new friends and share a picture or two of what nature looks like around Blogville.

Guess what?? While we were visiting Pagosa Springs, I got to take the pawrents on a hike!

I know how they like water falls, so I suggested we go to Treasure Falls. The falls are located in the San Juan mountains and were only a short 15 minute ride from our RV park.

Here I am making sure Daddy knew which way to go. Sometimes he gets a little confused.

I am waiting to make sure Mama catches up and doesn't get lost. 

SHEESH, humans are just difficult sometimes. Mama is always lagging behind taking pictures!

Daddy is excited because we are almost to the top of the trail....and because Mama finally caught up!

This way, you two...just a little further!

We finally made it to the falls and all Mama wanted to do is take pictures. I guess the falls are pretty, but there were so many smells and I was ready to do some more hiking!

We took our time on the way back down the hill. 

I found some great smells.....

....and we saw some beautiful views!

All and all it was a pretty awesome hike and I know the pawrents were happy to have me leading the way!

Thankful Thursday - Campsite Walkies

This week's thankful is all about the RV Park where we stayed in Colorado! 

 Let's take a little walkie and show you around.

Pagosa Pines RV Park was beautiful, starting with this pretty sign painted on a trailer. 

 You can see where the campground gets its name, look at all those pine trees surrounding the park office!

But the best part about the RV park was this great trail!

It was about a mile long, just the right length for us to get a nice leggy stretch!


Needless to say, we were all very happy campers!

We are so thankful we got to stay in such a beautiful

place while visiting Pagosa Springs!
