Nature's Howliday Lights

Welcome to the first Nature Friday in December!!
If your house is anything like ours...it's starting to fill up with howliday color and twinkle lights. Today, we want to take a look at nature's color and lights!

It's that time of year where the sunrises are putting on quite a show.

The oranges, pinks and purples are out in full force.

But the lights don't just come out in the morning.

The full moon put on a pretty show last week too!

Especially over the desert!

Are you seeing any pretty colors in your corner of Blogville?

We sure hope you can get out and see some Howliday and Nature Lighting this weekend.

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE  to go to our Hoppity Page.

2024 will bring our 15th year of blogging. Our pack has known some of you from the very start. There is no way to thank you for sharing the joy of bringing home new pups and the sadness of losing our angels. The memories Mama has of Blogville bring lots of laughs and a few tears.

Most of all though, we are thankful we get to read about your day to day adventures and that we get to share our adventures with you!

 An Ode to Autumn Leaves
by Rosy
As Autumn winds down,
the leaves fall to the ground.
As the wind bellows,
the oranges and yellows
float down without a sound.

The Places We've Been

As the big day of thanks here in the US draws closer, we have been thinking back to all the places we were thankful to visit in CeCe this year!

Our first trip was way back in March, when we visited Tucumcari and saw lots of fun things from

Then in April we visited Bonito Hollow

In May we visited a farm

Where we got to bark at see Alpacas!

Then, in June we went up to Angel Fire

We took a break in July, but in August we hit the road again.

Where we went to "the other Las Vegas".

In September we went TWO places! We went to the Route 66 RV Resort here in Albuquerque to test out how CeCe liked towing JeeJee.

PLUS we visited Granby and Rocky Mountain National Park

Finally, in October, we visited Bloomington, NM where we could see the Ring of Fire Eclipse!

2023 was a PAWESOME CeCe travel year....

We can't wait to see what 2024 brings!!

Roadside Rocks and Fun Facts

(We know some of you have been having problems posting comments on our account, we are pretty sure Mama fixed the problem but let us know via email if you have issues. Thanks so much for your patience)

Happy Nature Friday!!
Today, we have a few roadside New Mexico rock formations to show you. We collected these from the many, many, MANY pictures Mama took during travel season.

We don't know a whole lot about these formations specifically, sooooooo we have decided to give you a  fun New Mexico fact after each picture.

Ready? Let's go!
Santa Fe, the New Mexico state capitol, sits at an elevation of over 7000 feet above sea level. That means it looks down on Denver, the mile high city. Our house in Rio Rancho sits at 5262 feet above sea level. That's a bunch higher than when we lived in California when we were at sea level. Needless to say, it took all of us a little while to get used to living almost a mile higher than we used to.

Something we aren't all that proud of, but need to mention, is that the Atomic Age started in New Mexico on the Alamagordo Bombing Site with the Trinity Test.
We are looking forward to learning more about the cool, non war places in Alamagordo like White Sands Park when we visit there next March.

Many believe that New Mexico is all desert and cacti. Believe it or not, New Mexico has over 16 million acres of forestland.  We can attest to that because we visited lots of it during our 2023 CeCe Travels this year.

New Mexico sure is full of fun facts!

The second deepest limestone cave in the US is in New Mexico. The Lechuguilla Cave, a part of Carlsbad Caverns is over 1600ft deep and 149 miles long!

New Mexico helped educate the world about fire prevention with the introduction of Smokey the Bear!

A bunch of New Mexico's landscape was formed by volcanic activity. The state has gone through over 700 eruptions in the past 5 million years.

Wowsers, New Mexico is a pretty cool place to live. Beautiful rocks,  Smokey the Bear and lots of forests...who could ask for more!

Do you have a fun fact from your corner of Blogville?
Let us know in the comments!

We hope you all get to see some fun nature this weekend!
