November Thankfuls Day 1 - Fall Color

This year, we are celebrating November with gratitude.
Today, on the first day of the month, we are thankful for Autumn colors right here in our neighborhood.

Welcome to Nature Friday, where we get to meet new friends and maybe share a picture or two of what nature looks like around Blogville.

Is anyone else tired today?  Those Trick or Treaters visited all night long...and then we waited up for the Great Pumpkin! Anyways...today we are going to take a look at some of the Autumn nature around the neighborhood.

Beautiful red berries....

Most of our leaves have changed from their deep greens to pretty oranges and yellows

...along with deep beautiful reds!

Hey, aren't those red leaves from our backyard Rosy??

They are Sunny, and so are these pretty seed pods from our Yucca. Some of them are closed like this one....

....and other ones have opened up to release the black seeds inside!!

We'll leave you with some "Halloween Cactus" from our neighbors yard BOL!

We sure had fun sharing the spookiest week of the year with you, and we hope you enjoyed it too.

We can't wait to see what November brings!

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE  to go to our Hoppity Page.

Halloween Tricks

Happy Halloween Everybuddy!!
Mama thought it would be nice to have a morning photoshoot of our Witchy costumes yesterday morning.
Little did we know it was FREEZY COLD outside!!

Luckily Sunny had Greenie Witch and after she said the magical words...
Bippity Boppity BOO......

We transported inside!!! Sunny was being a little bratty and kept going on and on about how SHE was a REAL witch....

Luckily, Greenie Witch was right at my side and I said some different magical words
ABRAPUMPKINADABRA!

and PRESTO Sunny turned into a pumpkin!!
TeeHeeHee

I am thankful that, after I apologized for being a brat, Rosy turned me back into the cute puppy I am so I could wish everybuddy a safe and Happy Halloween!!

Happy Spooky Travel Tuesday

This week we have a special spooky Travel Tuesday for Halloween week. When we visited Creede last July, the pawrents visited an old cemetery.

The Creede Cemetery was established in 1890 and is a Pioneer Cemetery(which basically means it is a cemetery where pioneers are layed to rest).

The Sunnyside Chapel is right below the cemetery. Believe it or not, this chapel was originally a Catholic Church. It was moved from it's original location, on Main Street in Downtown Creede, up to the cemetery. The Chapel was renovated and is now rented out for weddings and other special events.

 BOO!

The souls(or ghosts maybe?) that lay to rest here have beautiful eternal views, don't you think? Bob Ford, the man reported to have killed Jesse James(and was murdered in a Creede saloon) is buried in Creede Cemetary

The pawrents thought it was interesting to see the different family plots.  Above you see an older plot(surrounded by the white picket fence) in the background and a newer plot in front(with the chain fence surrounding it).

Many of the older graves were of young adults and children.
The founders of Creede were pretty isolated, and doctors were rare, so many didn't make it to adulthood due to disease or accidents.

Human cemeteries sure are interesting!

Thanks for tagging along for our short Halloween week visit to the Creede Cemetery!

Have you ever visited an historic cemetery?

Travel Memories 2024
by Sunny and Rosy

We were remembering, as Daddy put Cece to rest,
how this travel season was really the best!
White Sands National Park
Alamogordo, NM
In March, on our first trip, we were all smiles
As we got to walk on White Sand for what seemed like miles!

Grants KOA, New Mexico
Next up was the desert, through the lava we hiked,
Lizards were everywhere and Rosy was psyched!

Mountainview RV Resort

The mountains of Creede, in July was a blast.
Rosy turned seven, how quickly time passed!

Rio Chama RV Park
In August we saw Chama and got away from the heat.
There were tons of trains and boy was that was neat!

 Roam America Horeshoe Bend
RV Park
We wrapped up the season on our fun Arizona stay,
What a wonderful state to visit and places to play!

We had a blast in CeCe this season and saw so many things
We wonder and wonder, what next travel season will bring!

Thankful for Autumn Smells

Today, on Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday, I am thankful for the wonderful smells the cool breezes of Autumn bring! The leaves as they get crispy on the ground, the smoke in the air from fireplaces burning and even the cinnamon apple potpourri Mama has in the house!

But my most favorite smell is the lovely smell of the meat the neighbors have in their smoker next door!
YUM!

What Fall smells are you thankful for today??

Happy Travel Tuesday Memories

Did I mention the Grand Canyon not only had squirrels....

There were little lizards living there too!!

They were all sneaky thinking I didn't see them.

I saw you little lizard....
Daddy just wouldn't let me chase you!!!
