Lizardy Fun

The dog days of Summer might be coming to an end, but thankfully lots of lizards 

are still eating buggies in my backyard!!

 

 

 

The only problem is, when I chase them, they run up the fence and just stick there just out of reach!

It's like they have glue on the bottom of their little lizard paws!

 

 

Thankfully, there a lots more lizards where he came from.

Sunny Aaaws and Updates

 

 

 Wow, it's the last Monday in August already!

It seems like this Summer is zooming by way too fast, doesn't it?

Mama says I'm still healing fast but am favoring my back left leggie a little too much. For now, we're just keeping an eye on it. I'm hoping it gets better this week so Mama doesn't have to call the V-E-T.

Sounds like there will be lots of little walkies and leggie massages for me this week!

 Window Daydreams

 As I look out the window what did I see,

A big silly bunny looking at me! 

Next to the bunny, with his cute little crown,

A quail searches for bugs, his tail a deep brown!

 

On the purple flower, closer to me

A bumble bee buzzes and what else do I see?

A goldy finch perching on top of the tree!

 

When I'm stuck in the house because of the heat,

by the window in my room I take a seat.

I look out at the yard, some of it green,

and enjoy myself a little daydream.

 

 (This daydream is based on a true story. Stay tuned next week to  see the nature behind the poem!)

Thankful for a Place to Store our Stuff

 

 Mama and I finished cleaning out the closet and throwing(or giving away) all the dresses stuff we won't wear don't need anymore. We are so thankful to have space to store everything!

 

The Closet

Here is the closet in our room!
 

 

 The bottom of the right side is for our props and stuff. You know, all those stuffies and toys Mama got for us for different seasons. Mama said all the floors would be(and have been) covered with toys if we left them out all the time.

 

 

 Above our props is all Mama's camera and GoPro stuff along with some crafty card making stuff!

 

 

 On the left side of the closet are the current season props and toys, along with our supply of hair ribbons, bows and sunglasses. We also keep our backdrops for Fall and the Winter Howlidays on this side.

 

Our Box of Drawers

 

Most humans have a Chest of Drawers, but ours is more like a box of boxes! Here is where Mama keeps our costumes, our hats(we have 43) and some shirts. We also have a few winter scarfs we wear when it's chilly outside. 

 

Since Sunny and I are not big clothes wearers, we have downsized our wardrobe. Angels Bilbo, Arty and Dory were the big clothes pups. Mama does have a few shirts for Jakey when he gets cold and for Sunny and I to wear when(more like IF) we are in the mood.

 

Bandanas

  To make up for the lack of clothes, we do have quite the bandana collections!

 

Mama tries to keep them organized by season and occasion. Mama does like having them hung up where it's easier to choose which one to wear for any occasion!

 

 

All that organizing was hard work, I definitely need a nap to recuperate!

 Happy Tuesday! I don't know if I have mentioned this, but every now and then we have planes and helicopters fly over our house. We are honoring the pilots of these aircraft with today's Sunny Funny!

It's a Hummer Summer

 

Happy Nature Friday! We are celebrating Summer this week by showing you some more of Mama's favorite Summer visitor, the Hummingbird!

 

As our title mentions, it certainly has been a Hummer Summer! We have had these little guys buzzing and chirping on the back porch from sunrise to sunset for the past few months! 

 

 We think they all have had babies and now the babies are also coming to visit on a daily basis! Mama has three smaller feeders(2 cups of nectar each) and one big feeder(4 cups of nectar) and she is refilling them every other day.

 

 

 

 Those are some hungry hummers!! Mama enjoys taking pictures of the hummers in the morning sun because you can see their colors better.

 

 

 

This guy looks like he may have had a bit too much sugar BOL!

 

 

According to some, Hummers can also have spiritual

meaning.

 

 

 

 Some Native American tribes see hummingbirds as a symbol of love, playfulness and healing.

 

 

 

In other places around the world, hummers are a sign of adaptability

 

 

 

Some people even believe hummingbirds signify a visit from a loved one who may have passed away.  

 

 

 The only thing Mama and I both know for sure is we always feel happy when we are watching the hummers!!

Thankful for Space

 

 

Howdy everybody! Today, Mama and I were going to show you my(plus Jakey and Sunny's) closet

 BUT

  Mama decided we should put our Summer stuff away and look through our Autumn stuff. Then she took out all our stuff out of our closet and then,

 

 wellllllll....

 

 

Now our closet is empty and our room looks like this!

 Don't worry though, Mama says next week you can see our full closet, plus where else in our room we store all our stuff. 

 

We'll also give you a current count on all

our bandanas!

  

In the meantime, I am thankful Mama left enough space for me to stretch out and nap in our room while she does her organizing!
