Chippy TV

 

 The first day we were at our campsite in Utah it was VERY windy and chilly so, with the exception of a couple of  short walkies, we stayed inside the RV. Thankfully, Mama and Daddy upgraded to a site with Chippy TV!!

 

I sat and watched this little guy most of the day as he scurried in and out of the next-door neighbors fire pit!

 

 

 

Boy he was little, I bet we would would have been great friends, if only Mama would have let me out to chase meet him!

 

 

 

I know Jakey really wanted to be "friends" with him....or maybe have him come over for a "snack"

BOL!

 

 

Don't worry Mr(or Miss) Chippy, I would never let him eat you!

 

Most of the time it was just fun to sit and watch him, looking at whatever it is Chippies watch....

 

 

 The afternoon sure does speed by when you are chippy watching. Thank goodness Mama and Daddy upgraded to the site with Chippy TV so we could chillax until the weather got better the next day!

Sassy Monkey

 

 Mama says it seems like since I turned 5 months old,  I have become a bit of a Sassy Monkey.  Kinda like the one on my new bandana. She says she hopes I am going through my "Toddler Rebellion" stage...

 

 

 

 Doesn't she know I am becoming an independent puppy?!

I am independently deciding what commands I do and don't want to obey! Can I help it if I don't want to obey most of the rules? I mean, rules were meant to be broken, am I right??

A great big owl looking down on me.

Eeek! Oh boy, that gave me a fright!

Thankful for Firefighters

 

As you have probably heard, 2020 has been another bad year for wildfires here in California. This year Northern California has been hit particularly hard. Today, we are very thankful to firefighters from all over the country and the world,who have come together with our local Cal Fire heroes to fight these fires.

 

 

   Mama says, although the smoke makes all the pictures a soft pretty pink,  it's not worth the headaches, sinus problems and  breathing difficulties. Not to mention, we can't go for daily walks when it's smoky!

 

 

 

Here is a picture of the smoky rest area where Mama and I stopped to do this photo shoot. Just two weeks ago, the rest area was threatened by a fire that started about 10 miles down the highway. Thanks so much to the firefighters who quickly got the fire contained and extinguished. They kept it from spreading through two towns and burning down so much beautiful forest land!

  

We are safe on the coast, where we rarely see flames.   During the past couple of weeks though,  we had more than a few days of unhealthy  air quality. In fact, we've seen friends all over Blogville(and the US) who have been seeing smoky air!  

 

 

We are so thankful to the fire fighters for risking their lives and doing their best to contain the fires and clear up the air.

Below the Rim

Rosy: Wait a minute, didn't Daddy hike below the rim too??

Jakey: Yeah, he did...but he got our permission to go and hike with Murphy and Stanley's Daddy.  Mama just grabbed her camera and snuck out of the wheelie house to join Aunty C!! 

Sunny: I could have sworn I heard her say she was leaving Jakey, you must not have heard her!

Rosy: Ok, you two! The thing is, dogs aren't allowed in the actual "canyon" part of Bryce Canyon. This year, Aunty C talked Mama into doing the hike into the canyon and, as you might imagine, she took lots and lots of pictures. Being the good girl that I am,  I agreed we would let her share this week and again next week on Nature Friday!

 

 There sure is a bunch of pretty red lumps and bumps in the canyon...and look at the little tree!

 

 

 

 

How pawesome, Mama found some Angel Greta flowers!!

 

 

The green of the tree sure is pretty against the red rocks

 

 WOW....look how big this part of the canyon is!!

 

 

 

 

 Look Sunny, those are people at the bottom of that HUMUNGOUS canyon!

 

 

 Jakey: I don't know....I still don't think Mama had my permission to go!

Rosy: Shush Jakey and look at the pretty pictures!

 

 Another tall tree in the canyon.....

 

 

It's nice to see the blue skies after all the smoke we drove through to get here, isn't it you two? Look how pretty the sky was above the canyon, hardly a cloud in site!!

 

Look at all those trees down there. It's like a forest is growing in the canyon!

 

 

 

In fact, we'll get into more of the specifics next week, but Mama says she thinks that IS a (Dixie or Bryce) Forest down there!

Mama sure did get to see some beautimous views!!

Thankful for Adventure!

 We are so thankful we got to go on such a fun road trip last week, it was full of fun and adventure!

 

This wheelie house was bigger than the last one we rented and there was plenty of room to spread out!

Sunny and I shared the big bed...

Jakey really wanted to drive, but Daddy said his name wasn't on the rental agreement..BOL! Most of the time, he sat with Mama!

The thing we were most thankful for about the wheelie house was, at the end a long day driving, we could just turn off the engine and relax together!!
