Fall Flamingos on Nature Friday

Welcome to Nature Friday, where we get to meet new friends and share a picture or two of what nature looks like around Blogville. Rosy here today here with Flossy the flamingo to show you some fun flamingos Mama met on a trip she took to the ABQ Zoo last week.

As you might imagine, Mama is quite fond of Flamingos and spent awhile just standing and watching their cute antics.

Their pretty orangey pink feathers are beautiful, don't you think?

The "Flamingo Keeper" who pointed out this little cutie to Mama! She was born at the ABQ Zoo about 2 months ago!

Pretty cool, right?? Although she isn't pink yet, once she starts eating more she will gradually get pinker and orangier!

Did you know a group of flamingos is called a "Flamboyance"?

Thanks for joining us today for a look at the Flamingo. We'll be back in a couple of weeks to show you the rest of Mama's visit to the Zoo!
In the meantime, we hope all our friends get out and enjoy some nature this weekend!

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE to go to our Hoppity Page.

Rainbows, Unicorns and Flowers

at the ABQ Botanical Garden.

We can't get enough of this beautiful rainbow lantana.

Signs of Autumn are creeping in though, like these turning leaves...

These pretty orange and red leaves are Mama's favorite Autumn find so far this season.

But let's look at some more pretty colored flowers...

These yellow flowers look like some kind of cone flower...

The paper thin poppies always make us smile!

Purple asters always remind us of our first house in California.

Mama even found this hibiscus still blooming!

We'll close out this week's visit to the Botanic Garden with a pretty little natural bouquet of Rosy Roses!

Thanks for joining us this week for a fun look at some of the remaining flowers at the ABQ Botanic Garden!
We hope all our friends get out and enjoy some nature this weekend!!

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE to go to our Hoppity Page.

Magical Thankful Thursday

Today, on this magical Thankful Thursday, I am thankful for the magic that brings morning cookies, morning walkies and our breakfast and dinner at the same time every day.
What's that Mama...it's not magic, it's YOU??
Ok, so today we are also thankful for our Magical Mama!

Happy Spooky Season!

OMD, I can't believe it's Spooky Season already!! Mama and I are working to get some spooky fun Backyard Wildlife Wednesday videos together for the month. Today we're starting with our most recent cat and mouse "stalker video":
(As always, feel free to visit our YouTube Channel HERE)
I still can't believe kitties visit our fountain when we aren't around!!!

With Spooky season here, the big plastic buckets filled with silly costumes and props have come out of storage. This signals the beginning of "Dress Up Season". This October, Rosy and I have decided to go with the flow. As a result, we'll be dressing up in fun and silly costumes all month long.
We figure its the least we can do to make our pawrents, and maybe your humans too, smile a little.
Plus, we heard there may be rotisserie chicken involved as "thank you cookies"!

Getting Ready for Balloon Month

Beth here today, I'm giving the pups the day off in preparation for
lots of Halloween dressing up in October.
In addition to Dress Up month, October is also
Balloon Fiesta Month....

Since the first year we moved to the area, the ABQ International Balloon Fiesta has been one of my most favorite times of the year. We have balloons fly over our neighborhood all year round but, starting at the end of September and all through the month of October, we seem to see at least one fly over the house every day!

I'm looking forward to an October filled with hot air balloons....and taking pictures of cute pups dressed up in silly costumes!
October is definitely one of my happiest months!
