Happy Travel Tuesday!!
Whew...is it us, or has this summer flown by??!!
Hopefully the rainy season will start real soon, putting a stop to the yucky wildfires up here so we can get out and show you some of our local fun things to do!!
In the meantime, we are going to show you all a bit of the wine country and Mama's trip to take pictures of the San Francisco Bridge!
Every year, usually during the summer time, Daddy has a few busy-ness trips he takes for work. Since Mama has this addiction love of photography and travel, she tags along with him. When he has his meetings and stuff, Mama takes off and enjoys the local scenery!
The first day of this trip, Mama left Santa Rosa and went over a big mountain to wine country!
Since Mama was only visiting for a few hours, she only went by one winery, her most favorite, St. Supery!
Mama likes them because they have good wine AND a beautiful winery!!

The entrance is surrounded by beautiful flowers!!!
Mama says these are some of the most beautiful fuschias she has ever seen!!!
Mama had a picnic lunch and enjoyed the beautiful weather in the vineyard!
Of course, she also took lots of pictures of the grapes before heading back to meet Daddy for dinner!!
The next day Mama took a ride down the California Coast to take
a million pictures in the views!
This is the coast just south San Francisco! The Pacific Coast Highway is full of twists and turns in this area and Arty and I were pretty happy to not have been in the car for this ride. Sometimes it's just as fun to be "Zapped" into a photo!

Of course, you will all be surprised (or not) to know that Mama found a light house during her ride. This is the Point Bonita Lighthouse! It is located in the Marin Headlands area of the Golden Gate Recreation Center.
The lighthouse is closed to the public right now, so Mama didn't get real close. She did get this cool picture with the lighthouse and a big ship!!
If the ship above was headed the other way, he would go under here:
The Golden Gate Bridge!!
Mama has seen the bridge before, but never from up above like this! This was also taken from the Marin Headlands section of the Golden Gate Recreation Area. There is a very cool road and it has lots of places to pull over and take pictures, she says this is a "must see" if you are ever in the San Francisco Area!!

I love fuchsias. I remember driving around in Ireland and they were used as roadside hedges. Whenever they got to be too big or overhanging, the mower would come and mow them down to a decent size again. The week after, they would be blooming again as if it never happened.

ReplyDeleteI add my name to the Fuschia Club!!! (I used to grow several varieties...)
Now... you gotta know I couldn't let that ship pass without comment &*> ... Ya Sa are a Turkish shipping company who actually only own one of their fleet - the rest are 'under management', carrying their livery. The picture was not clear enough for me to be certain, but it would be one of the bulk tankers and I strongly suspect one of the Yasa Golden trio - Bosphorus, Dardanelles or Marmara... and I think the first, as it's run includes San-Fran. Each tanker tends to have 'territory'.
Oh that was fun. Did you find that fun??? Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Mom used to get out there often when she was flying, but hasn't been to CA at all for years now. We really need to do a cross the USA road trip!
ReplyDeletemy bucket list includes riding along that CA coast highway that you traveled. i will have to zap myself there. i have only seen fuchsias in our Selby gardens, these are much prettier than the ones in the gardens

Beautiful country your mom visited. Mom's dad used to grow beautiful fuschias and begonias in their backyard in Redwood City, CA

Pee es
ARty & Dory - I am really glad you like the himalayan chews I recommended. Angel Greta liked them too.
when they get too small for me to chew, mom puts the ends inside my holey roller ball.
We have read that if you microwave the small ends for 30 seconds they puff up into a crunchy treat, but we have not tried that.
hugs
Mabel
We just read the comment above and we have put them in the microwave before and they puff up giant! But they will be quickly eaten once they are puffed up cuz then they are crunchy. Mom says she likes visiting San Fran but has not been there in a long time.
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
