Happy Travel Tuesday - Grand Lake, Co.

Most afternoons during our vacation Mama and Daddy went for a "dog free adventure." Imagine my surprise when one afternoon they decided we should go for an adventure together! Sunny was exhausted from our morning walk but I jumped at the chance to get out and explore.

We took a ride to Grand Lake, Colorado, a small town situated right outside Rocky Mountain National Park. Grand Lake was established in 1881 and originally furnished supplies to surrounding mining settlements.

Today though, with only approximately 500 permanent residents, Grand Lake depends on tourists like me
(or maybe Mama and Daddy since they hold the fleasa card).

We spent some time walking up and down their "Boardwalk" where lots of small shops are located. Mama really liked that there are no "chain" stores or restaurants allowed along the boardwalk.

After some shopping, we made our way over the the town's namesake, Grand Lake!

Grand lake is the largest, deepest natural lake in Colorado. It's also part of the beginnings of the Colorado River. Mostly though, it has beautiful views.

What a wonderful afternoon, filled with pawrents and me time, shopping and lots of exploring.

We all had a such a pawesome time, me exploring and Sunny getting a well deserved nap! Don't worry, Sunny enjoyed a nice pawrents and her walk when we got back to CeCe!

  1. What a Grand place to visit. And the contrast between the blue skies and the puffy white clouds is magnificent.
Nobby is relieved that Sunny got her little outing too.

  8. Niece Rosy what a wonderful adventurer you are...always ready to go.
I loved the photo of you Dad and the Chief. It reminded me of one we used to see. Years ago there was a similar Indian Chief just as we walked into a Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream Store.
The BR was owned by a family named Silverman. The dad was quite entertaining with children.
Oh I've been watching the last 3 seasons of Longmire on Peacock. Each season had 10 episodes. I was so happy to finally find it. Tonight is the as episode of last season.
