Moffat Railroad Museum on a Happy Travel Tuesday

From Mama: We are having a hard time commenting on some Word Press Blogs. We've tried subscribing, leaving multiple comments and we don't see our comments coming through(please let me know if they are). Of course, some of our favorite blogs are among these...The Weims in France, Lulu, Java and the Oceanside Cats, even our favorite Ninja Poodle. Is it just me, or is anyone else having issues??

OK, Conductor Bear, the time has finally come for a tour around your Museum!!

When we were visiting Colorado earlier this year, Mama and Daddy made a stop at the Moffat Road Railroad Museum! As you may know, Daddy is a big rail fan and Mama also likes seeing the history of the US Railway and taking pictures of trains!

It may look small from the outside, but looks can be decieving!
Today, we'll look at just 2 of the 6 projects they are working on outside in the
Rail yard!

The museum spent 9 years restoring this CA-1 Class Caboose although it was mostly all there, the framing and siding all had to be rebuilt!

Now it looks just as it did back when it used to ride the rails.
Where the crew ate....

Stored tools and supplies

and cooked, slept and kept warm!

Daddy and Mama's favorite project of the museum was this one:

the 1905 Central Vermont First Class Passenger Coach

As you can see, it is not in the best of shape, but the museum has grand plans to have it restored!

Can you imagine all the people back in the day who have stepped over this?

It may look run down, but both the pawrents still talk about how they
could imagine how beautiful it must have been!

Read more about the 1905 coach HERE

We'll be stopping here for now....but join us again in 2 weeks when we will take a look
at one of the biggest attractions of the museum.....
Their model train exhibits!!!

Thanks for coming along with us as we visited the projects of the Moffat Road Railway Museum. We'd love to hear if you know of any small railway museums in your corner of Blogville, so the pawrents can put them on our list of places to visit!!

We are joining Sandee at Comedy Plus for the
Happy Tuesday Blog Hop this week!

Oh I am just a little green that you got visit this place! Can't wait to see the models at work too (for I am sure mama filmed them!)

Re the comments at WP; the platform recently started fiddling around with their comments boxes (and I think you should be able to sign in via Google ID now). But the really annoying thing is that popup subscribe thingo after one has hit publish. What I found though is that if you refresh the page (or hit the cross to delete the box) then my comment appears, so do give that a try.) Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  10. Lulu: "All aboooooaaaarrrrrddd!"
Java Bean: "Ayyy, sí, Wordpress has been sending all of your comments to spam for us lately! Dada keeps fishing them out. Wordpress is supposed to learn from that, but apparently Wordpress is about as smart as Siri these days!"
    Charlee: "How smart is Siri?"
Lulu: "To hear Dada tell it, not very!"
