This year, we are celebrating November with gratitude. It's also Nature Friday, where we get to meet new friends and maybe share a picture or two of what nature looks like around Blogville. Today we are thankful for snow days!!
Sometimes, it's hard to believe we live so far south. Especially after all the snow that fell last week!!
Last Thursday, 11/7, we woke up to THIS!
We got around 4 inches of very wet snow overnight, and an additional inch or so in the morning!
The trees and cacti were covered in white stuff!
It was such a beautiful sight to see..
BUT because there was so much wet snow, Mama wouldn't let us out unsnoopervised! The snow had all the trees weighed down, and a few branches even broke under the weight of the snow so Mama thought it would be safer if we didn't do snow zoomies or snow barkies.
Like this branch from our Crab Apple Tree!
It was strange seeing so much snow on trees that still had their green leaves!
There were even flowers still blooming on some of them!
Our Maple Tree still had Autumn leaves holding on to its branches.
Mama took a million billion pictures of them, and we're pretty sure you'll see more of them in a future post.
Luckily, the storm didn't last as long as the weather humans said, and we even saw some blue sky later in the day!
Mama made a movie(SURPRISE!) to document the storm
(As always, feel free to visit our YouTube Channel HERE)
We are very thankful to experience the beauty of the Rocky Mountain foothills and the weather surprises living here brings!
We hope you all get out and see some nature this weekend!
Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE to go to our Hoppity Page.

a real winter wonder land... that is a lot of ice cream what came down from heaven...
ReplyDeleteWow you have snow already! Amazing, and so beautiful with the blue skies and the Autumn leaves. But we do think Mama was being a bit of a spoilsport, not letting you do snow zoomies and barkies.
ReplyDeleteYour snow is so beautiful and yes, you're supposed to wait until the leaves fall before the snow falls or they can get weighted down and snap. We want snow too!
ReplyDeleteWe had that wet stuff a couple weeks ago. It is very dangerous as it does break a lot of limbs off trees and bushes and it makes roads really slick, but it is pretty. Glad you got to enjoy some snow.
ReplyDeletethis is amazing, I had no idea you would/could get this much snow and in November. your yard is postcard picture perfect. lots of these would make great Christmas cards.. glad your mama kept you out of danger. I do hope no one eats your snowman, Rosy. ha ha.. did you know you can make ice cream out of snow? maybe da mama will make you a little of it

surprising you got so much snow! Our weather guys didn't tell us how long it would snow (4 days) and how much to expect (not 3" but 20")! Your festive snow hat is so cute... good not to run around and get bonked by a limb. LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteMama is very wise. That heavy snow on tree branches can be very dangerous. But how we wish we had some of that beautiful white snow.

We're so jealous of you getting to romp around in the snow! It's too bad that it broke some of your tree branches, but we hope we get some snow here soon.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, but even if Scarlet Johanson stops by you want her gone in a couple of days
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a snow storm! Our swamps do not like snow.
ReplyDeleteHi Rosy. Our Mom thinks it's cause you live so close to the Rockies that you get snow. We wish we would get some this winter. It looks like fun. But it is supposed to be warmer here this winter.
ReplyDeleteLulu: "Do you need anyone to come help out with snow zoomies and snow barkies? Asking for a friend ..."
