Welcome to Nature Friday, where we get to meet new friends and share a picture or two of what nature looks like around Blogville. Today, we are taking you on a Winter tour of our backyard.

The skies have been blue here in our corner of the world.

We had a rainy cold front come through last week, with temps staying in the 30s during the day and dropping into the twenties at night. It made these pretty icicles.

Mama turned off the fountain so it wouldn't freeze.

This week the days are warmer, almost 60F degrees.

The plants are getting confused....this little forsythia bloom thought it was Spring.

Some of our plants still have their seed pods attached, like the lilac bush...

....and Mama's favorite, the Texas Yucca's seed pods!

Thanks for joining us on our backyard tour. January is a pretty quiet time for nature here in our corner of Blogville.
We hope all our friends enjoy some nature this weekend!
From Mama: We are away from the office today and may not be able to comment. We'll catch up with everyone Monday afternoon!

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE to go to our Hoppity Page.
you are right january is a quiet month... the song for this month could be silence is golden, specially in the rare evening sun

ReplyDeletethe last time I saw icicles like this was in 1959 in Sloans Valley KY... these are beautiful, and I do love seed pods and especially photos of seed pods... your back yard is wonderful when cold or hot...

Good icicles look so pretty, but be careful as if they fall, they can be dangerous, especially the big ones.
