Welcome to Nature Friday where we get to meet new friends and share a picture or two of what nature looks like around Blogville. Today, on my birthday eve, I thought I would share a few fun facts about my favorite bird, the Peafowl!

Peacocks are the males of the Peafowl family.

They have decorative tails that make up over 60% of their total length.
They are also known to be fearless...kinda like me!

The average lifespan of the Peafowl is 10-20 years.

The peahen hatches 3-6 eggs a season and sometimes lays an unfertilized "clutch" of eggs away from her nest as decoys to attract predators. Needless to say the females of the species are VERY smart (also like me).
Thanks for joining me as we took a look at the
peafowl. It's fun to see a bird that isn't toootttaaalllly silly!
We hope all our friends get to experience some Nature this weekend!!

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE to go to our Hoppity Page.
