Summer Flower Friday

Welcome to Nature Friday where we get to meet new friends and share a picture or two of what nature looks like around Blogville. Sally the Sloth and I are wrapping up Mama's last trip to the Botanic Garden today with some Summer flower pictures!

Pretty pink and yellow lantana....

Faded pink cone flowers....

A raindrop covered day lily...

A pretty pink Zinnia...

It sure is nice for Mama to have a place to look at colorful flowers but, I sure wish they allowed pretty black Lhasa Apsos into the Gardens. It looks like a beautiful place for a nice walkie. Oh well, maybe someday!

Back to the flowers....

A pretty red crepe myrtle bloom for Aunty C...

A nice oleander bloom with a few raindrops....

Black eyed Susans are the perfect Summer bloom!

Mama says these may be Cardoon flowers, but they also may be giant thistles. YAM Aunty featured a pretty Cardoon flower last week on Nature Friday.

Here is another view, maybe YAM Aunty can take a guess?
They were as big as a dinner plate, but mostly done blooming.

Thanks for joining us as we looked at the Summer beauty at the Botanical Garden. Hopefully, next week we'll have some pictures of our mountain adventure!!

Sally the Sloth and I hope all our friends get out and see some Nature this weekend!

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE  to go to our Hoppity Page.

Yes, Rosy, I think what mama caught there was one - OR a very close relative of the Cardoon... the Globe Artichoke. They are both Carduae - but also both under the label of Asteraceae. Yes, they are asters! What a lovely collection of colours in today's post. Be sure to enjoy that weekend away now, won't you? Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
