If you saw Thursday's postie, you saw that Dory and I got to go on a walkie together! We wanted to show you some of the pretty flowers that we see on our walkies!
Mama calls these guys..Flowers with eyes...'cause the little yellow dots in the middle look like eyes
(how creepy is that!)
(how creepy is that!)
( they are really called wild cucumber flowers)
Red flowers with berries....
One of our Flickr friends say these flowers are really WEEDS...*GASP*...They smell really pretty, so we call them yellow "perfume" flowers.
(they are also known as yellow bush lupine)
These pretty blue flowers also smell REALLY good....so of course their name is "Blue perfume flowers"
(Mama says this is California Lilac)
We think these are weeds too...but hey, aren't most wildflowers weeds???
Mama thinks this is a bunch of flowers called Queen Anne's Lace. We aren't sure who Queen Anne is, but this flower sure is pretty!!!
That's all the flowers for this week, we hope flowers in your area are starting to bloom!!!
PeeEss...From Mama: If anyone can identify these flowers please leave the name of them in the comments. I love takes pictures of flowers...but when it comes to identification, google can only tell me so much :-)
This post is dedicated to our friends who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in the last month. It seems that so many of our old friends have move on to a better place. We will miss them all....but know that they are happy and running, pain-free, with the rest of the Blogville Rainbow Bridge pack!
Oh Dory, all of the flowers you and your Mama found are so beautiful. Our mama says that pretty yellow one looks familiar but she can't think of the name.
ReplyDeleteOn the Queen Anne's Lace, that could be Cow's Parsnip or even Giant Hogweed. Queen Anne's Lace grows to 2' to 4' and the other two are much taller. Both can irritate and burn the skin. Giant Hogweed is especially dangerous. I have seen it in Oregon but I don't know if it is down your way.
Luv your flower pictures!
ReplyDeleteThey look beautiful but name wise we are no help. Nevermiind we still enjoyed seeing them.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
those are all so beautiful and our Mom would go crazy over the scented ones - she loves any flowers that have a scent

A Master Gardener once told Mom that ANY plant ... growing where you don't WANT it to is a WEED.. even an orchid can be a Weed. And if it is growing in a place that you don't mind... it is a FLOWER !
ReplyDeleteFlower POWER.
I like FrAnkie's take on things. Wildflowers are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteRuby and Angel Pip
Those are all so pretty! My mom always says, "One man's weed is another man's wildflower". :)
