As I may have mentioned a few times, I love our backyard!! There is SOOOOO much nature back there! I just love running after with the bunnies,
hunting the lizards and honestly, lately I only have energy leftover to watch the birdies.
But you'll never guess what else we have in our backyard,
TIGERS!!!
Western Tiger Swallowtails that is (teeheehe)!
They seems to be all over the place this Spring!
This is one Mama chased followed one morning, it started in our crab apple tree. It flitted and flew from one bloom to another....
Look Mama, there is goes.....
Wow, look at him fly!
Check out how long his antennae are, I wonder if they help guide him to his next destination?
From the crab apple tree, he sailed over to the lilac bush!
Don't his pretty colored wings look beautiful against the purple lilacs?
I hope you enjoyed looking at our Tiger this week, and I hope everyone gets a chance to go out and explore some nature this weekend!

ReplyDeleteGolly gosh, Rosy - what a find!!! I think your new back yard is offering up so much, you almost don't need to go outside the boundary! Not that you shouldn't when you get the chance. But to know there's all this on offer at your doorstep... well... it's kinda heaven, ain't it?!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Oh Rosy, your are a tease! For a moment we thought there really was a tiger of the feline variety stalking your yard. What a relief to find it was in fact a very special butterfly. And so beautifully captured on camera by your clever Mama.
ReplyDeleteHappy Nature Friday!
we love your tigers!!! what a cute post... we wish da princess leah could see that buttypillars...
ReplyDeleteYour tigers are just beautiful and so are your blooming trees and bushes!
ReplyDeleteThose butterflies are beautiful. We haven't seen them before!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your tiger. so beautiful on the blossoms, they do the same thing as bees, pickup pollen and move it around causing things to grow and bloom. you have an amazing magical yard. tell Mama right about dusk to watch the tiger and they will settle in one of the plants. they roost over night in the plants. and always go back to the same plant
ReplyDeleteNiece Rosy OMDs I don't know how your talented Momma makes all her photos look as if I could reach thru my screen and pick a flower. OMDs give her a high five and a big hug
ReplyDeleteAunty Cecilia
That is a beautiful tiger. Our mom likes to chase those butterflies around our yard too. They sure can move all over.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! Those Tiger Swallowtails are absolutely wagnificent! Your backyard continues to be gorgeous-thank you for sharing it with us. You are very lucky pups to have so much nature going on at your house. Happy Mother's Day to your mum, sweet Rosy. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHow fun and the butterfly is most amazing. I'm waiting for them here.
ReplyDeleteHave a woof woof day and weekend. Scritches all around and my best to your peeps. ♥
We loved seeing that butterfly. So far, we've only seen couple small butterflies here in WNY.
ReplyDeleteEven the body on that butterfly is yellow with a black stripe. But does it have the eye of the tiger, BOL? Keep having fun in your new back yard, Rosy! XOX Xena, Lucy and Chia
ReplyDeleteHad me for a moment, pretty small tiger and so pretty
ReplyDeleteYour backyard sounds so enjoyable for all of you sweet Rosy and your Tigers sure are pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing us your beautiful butterflies. We are still months away from seeing them here. Mommy says a butterfly is an angel coming to visit.
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "Ooh, for a minute there I thought you meant our giant orange and black striped cousins, but these tigers are much better."
ReplyDeleteHi Rosy, this is our first visit and you are such cutie pie. We love your backyard.
