Travel Tuesday - Rosy's Walk around Tucumcari

As you might remember, a couple of weekends ago we packed up ArCe and took a ride to Tucumcari, NM.

It was our first long ride in ArCe. We had to listen to Mama oooo-ing and aaawwwiing about the BIG views she and Daddy have out the front window almost the whole trip long.

"Are they ever going to be quiet Rosy??"

Rosy "Zzzzzzzzzzz"

After about three hours we made it to the Blaze N Saddle RV Park!
This is the same place we stayed almost exactly two years ago when we were in Tucumcari! Of course, we stayed in CeCe way back then.

It was still early after we ate dinner. Sunny was sleepy and decided to go to bed early, but I was ready to explore!

Mama and Daddy took me for a nice sunset walk along Route 66 in Downtown Tucumcari!

This is the Roadrunner Lodge. Believe it or not this building has been around since 1947!

This mural was part of the Kix on Route 66 Restaurant.

Mama and Daddy are so sorry they didn't eat here. It burned down last week and has no plans to reopen. We are glad we got some pictures of it before the fire.

This is the Safari Motel, it is one of the most popular hotels in Tucumcari and was built in 1959.

This is it's owner, Sam.
He and his human, Larry Smith, have owned the Safari since 2017.

Here is the Blue Swallow Motel, Mama's most favorite hotel to take pictures of in Tucumcari. It has been around since 1939.

Thanks for joining me on my sunset walk around Tucumcari. It's always nice to explore places we are staying. Plus, Mama is always happy to walk along Route 66!

Our Tucumcari weekend continues on Friday when I show you the cool place I got to go on Saturday morning!

  8. Lulu: "That looks like such a fun place to stay! Although I can only imagine that our Dada would be speaking in nothing but Mel Brooks movie quotes the whole time he was at the Blaze In Saddle RV Park ..."
