Sunny here guest hosting this week's Nature Friday!
This week, I want show you the rhododendron blooms we've had in our backyard through out Spring.
Believe it or not, they started blooming back in early April and we still have a few of our bushes still blooming!!
Let's take a look!
It seems different shades of pink are the "in" color for Rhodies this year.
Here we have a group of mostly white blooms, with very pale pink edges.
I like the curly edging on these blooms, and the pretty polka dots on some of the petals.
When walking in your backyard, it's always good to look down, and not just to find flower petals and leaves to chew on!
Slugger, the banana slug, lives under the deck and comes out to visit on foggy mornings.
When have warmer weather we get visitors to like Lizzie, the (Shasta Alligator)Lizard who likes to lay in the grass when the sun is shining! Sally, the garden snake, will probably make an appearance soon, but we haven't seen her yet.
He's not like a REAL alligator, right Mama?
No? Whew!
Anyway...let's get back to our rhododendrons
Pretty bright pink rhodies with small blooms....
...and some bigger light pink blooms with curly edges!
Little pink Rhody buds....
Turn into pretty pink blooms!!
Let's round off this rhododendron fest with this beautiful purple blooms!!
Thank you for joining me in the backyard this week, I really enjoyed showing you our
pretty rhododendrons and scary, I mean, interesting other creatures!
I hope every buddy a pawsome weekend full of Nature!!
