Buzzy Bees at the Garden

We might be in the chilly wilds of Colorado but when we left Albuquerque it was still warm and bees were buzzing everywhere. Here are a few buzzers Mama saw when she was visiting
the ABQ Botanical Garden...

The bees were really attracted to the Lantana.

We had never noticed this before....

Maybe it is the bright yellow and orange they are attracted to.

Bees are such hard workers, just like me! I wonder if they ever take vacations to Colorado with their families?

Here is a pretty pink Rose of Sharon. If you look in the shadow, you can see the little buzzy dude inside covered in pollen!

Sunflowers are always a favorite bee magnet, not to mention a favorite flower of a bunch of our friends.

We'll close this Nature Friday post with a pretty sunflower and a busy, buzzy bee.

We hope all our friends get out and fins some nature this weekend.
We will be starting our trek home tomorrow, and should be back in Blogville in time to celebrate...

Flowery Nature Friday and PSA

Happy Nature Friday!!!
Labor Day here means the morning are a nice and cool, but the afternoons are still toasty and in the mid 90sF(Mid 30sC). This week, Mama took a morning walk at the Botanical Gardens to see what was blooming!

The Goldenrod is blooming...Mama's nose noticed that even before
she saw it BOL!

There are still so many roses blooming too!
Here is a pretty orange one

and a lovely yellow rosebud with pink edges!

But wait, there are even MORE roses!
The rest of them are in my favorite color...
PINK!

Pink layers....

Pink edged...

Last, but not least, pink edged with a yellow middle
...and pretty water droplets!

Now for our PSA. Mama is going crazy packing everything and Daddy is making sure CeCe is in tip top shape because tomorrow, bright and early, we leave for a week long trip to the Rocky Mountains!

We are not sure if we will have internet service. If we do, we will try and send out a post card next week. With the wonderful magic of pre-posting, we will have Nature Friday set up for September 15th.

We hope you all get to get out and have fun in nature this week and we'll be back to regular posting, Tuesday September 19th.

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE  to go to our Hoppity Page.

Thankful Thursday - Traveling Together!

Last week, the pawrents got everything ready so we could all travel as a family in CeCe!

That's right, no more traveling behind Daddy in the Jeep when we go camping...From now on CeCe will be towing the Diva Jeep and Mama, Sunny and Me(Rosy) will travel with Daddy in CeCe!

Last Sunday, we hooked up the Diva Jeep and took her for a test drive behind CeCe to the Route 66 RV Resort(about 30 miles west of our house)! Daddy did a great job handling our "Big Rig" and JeeJee, being a Diva Jeep, enjoyed being towed and not having to do any work!

We got to take a nice walk around the RV Park grounds and were very pleased with their layout. They have TWO very well maintained dog parks and nicely paved trails that went around the park. The views were pawesome and definitely had a desert feel. We were there for less than 24 hours, but the pawrents said we would definitely be back to explore more in the future!

Another plus? They are located on the historic Route 66, and we all enjoyed the "kitschy" decor.
They had a nice old fashioned gas pump which is really an electric vehicle charger! This means YAM Aunty can bring The Grey to visit (if she can find a way to get him across the Atlantic, that is).

The skies were beautiful as storms moved in during the late afternoon.
There was even a rainbow that landed right on CeCe!!
She is definitely the pot of gold at the end of our rainbow!
(Daddy says she cost as much as a pot of gold too. BOL!)

We really enjoyed both the Route 66 RV Resort and are very thankful we'll be traveling together in CeCe as a family!

We can't wait to get back on the road again!!

Thank you Brian for hosting the

Wings on Wednesday....Birdies or Dinosaurs?!

So the other day, I was playing with my toy dinosaur when I noticed he looks like some of the birdies we see in the backyard!!

Here's a comparison....

Picture of a dinosaur.....

Short movie of our birdies...

Don't even get me started on Roadrunners!
What do you think....
are birdies actually dinosaurs in disguise??

Hollywood in Las Vegas, NM?

We are so happy we got to visit  "other Las Vegas", it sure is a quaint little town with lots of history.

Seems like we weren't the first ones to feel the draw of this little town either.  Las Vegas is one of the oldest Hollywood Film locations in the Southwest.

They have been filming movies in Las Vegas, NM since the silent film era!  Tom Mix, a cowboy actor from the early 1900s, called Las Vegas NM his favorite film location!

Other movies filmed in Las Vegas were Easy Rider, No Country for Old Men and Red Dawn, just to name a few.

One of the more recent shows to be filmed in this area(and all around New Mexico) is one the pawrents
watched.....
They thought it was filmed in Wyoming...but, as proved in this picture
they took off the LV PLaza, it was filmed here in Las Vegas!

Longmire started out as an A&E show, but moved to Netflix.
The pawrents recommend it highly!
(Mama also recommends the Walt Longmire Mystery series of books by Craig Johnson).

If you are movie buffs like Mama, you might enjoy this older video
Mama found on YouTube about Las Vegas and the movies.

We sure did enjoy our visit to the Historic "Other Las Vegas", thanks for joining us! New Mexico has so many beautiful places to visit and we can't wait to explore them all(and show them to you)!
