Thankful for Travel Beds

When Mama first insisted we travel our floofy beds with us in the Rogue, we were a bit skeptical. But she promised we would thank her when we got to our new place....

Boy was she right!! All the downstairs floors are shiny chilly tile...and our floofy beds keep us nice and warm while we "help" Mama unpack!

We sure are thankful Mama insisted we bring all our comfy beds!!

Thank you Brian for hosting the

Travel Tuesday - Getting to New Mexico

On Saturday, January 15th, Mama packed us(and a bunch of other stuff) into the Rogue and we took off for New Mexico.

Unlike other road trips, this one was mostly driving "to get there." It had been a long time since we had all seen Daddy, and we were more than ready to start our new adventure!

We did try to make sure Mama stopped to enjoy some of the journey, though.

For instance, we have passed this restaurant lots of times when we  traveled south on Interstate 5 in California. Mama always said she wanted to stop and take pictures of it. This time, we made sure she stopped because we didn't know when we would be there again.

"Why would she want to stop here?" you might ask....

Because it's the only wind mill Mama has ever seen in California.
 BOL!!!!

Sunny offered to drive when Mama got back in the car.  Unfortunately, she doesn't have her driver's license, so Mama said no.

After we left California, the rest of the drive was on I-40, which runs parallel to(and sometimes merges with) Highway 66.

Rosy has made lots of stops along the historic part of Route 66, but on this trip she was in a big hurry to see Daddy(we hadn't seen him in 2 weeks).
You can visit Rosy's last Route 66 post HERE

We stopped at some very pretty Rest Areas

and spent lots of time on the open road!

....and after asking "Are we there yet?" like a million times....

We finally arrived in New Mexico!!

We are looking forward to showing you all around our new state. But first, Mama says she has a bunch of unpacking to do(Our furniture should be here today!!). So we'll be showing you things from around our temporary home and backyard.

But don't worry, soon we'll get to see(and show you) just how enchanting the Enchanted State is!!

Howliday Aloha Nature Friday

We thought with all the chilly weather and snow some of you across the world have had lately, it might be nice to warm up a bit. Hopefully these pictures we found in Mama's archives of the trip to Kauai, Hawaii in 2016 will help!

The sunrise over Kauai.
Did you now Kauai is the oldest of the Hawaiian island at over 5.1 million years old.
Wow!!

A beautiful Plumeria, Mama's most favorite flower, and scent too!

Here is an African Tulip tree Flower!

Kauai is nicknamed the Garden Island, the above flowers are only a small sampling of the beautiful flora and fauna that covers the island!

 Beautiful beaches.....

...and lava shelved blowholes were two of Mama's most favorite things about the island!

I'm getting more Snta Paws points for this, right Mama??
OH, I mean ooooo, aaaaaaaawwww, so pretty!

This is the NeNe, Hawaii's State Bird

The locals call this guy the island bird because  they are EVERYWHERE!!

We close out our little trip to Kauai with a beautiful sunset!

Thanks for  joining us for our little archive memory, and we hope it has warmed you up a bit!!

We hope you all have a chance to get out and see some nature this weekend!

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE to go to our Hoppity Page.

Gone Surfin'

Unfortunately, we will only be surfin' in our imaginations. We will, however, be hanging with our cool Au Pairs S and H for the week while Mama and Daddy go and visit family in Michigan. Maybe we can talk them into taking us surfing!

Rosy did snag Mama's password and she'll be back later in the week for Nature Friday!

Happy Flag Day

Happy Flag Day Everybuddy!  This is a day the US honors our National Flag. The Stars and Stripes flag design was approved on this date back in 1777!

The need for a national flag came after the Declaration of Independence was signed, before then each colony had its own flag.

One of the first national flag designs had the stars shaped in a circle to represent all 13 colonies as equals.

Enjoy the red, white and blue today!!

Happy Rubber Ducky Day!!

Did you know that every year on January 13th Ernie's famous Rubber Ducky from Sesame Street celebrates a birthday?

Arty, do you think our friends have ever heard Ernie sing the rubber ducky song??

MAMAMAMA, can you share the video you played for us yesterday, some people may not know about Rubber Ducky!

Mama insisted on posting the "Vintage" video from 1973 (you know, from the time before dinosaurs roamed the earth), because that is the one she originally watched.
(You can also view it HERE on YouTube)

Isn't it a fun song?? I really LOVED all the squeakies the rubber ducky makes!!

Yes Sunny, it is a nice song but Rubber Duckies have been around for longer than 1973. It seems that in the year 1928 a Mr. Landon Smart Lawrence patented the first official "Rubber Ducky"

So Happy Birthday Rubber Ducky, we love you!!
Welllll,  as long as we don't have to take a bath to play with you!
