Lake Life - Boat Life

The weather for our stay in Minnesota was perfect, especially for us New Mexicans. The first few days were all about clear skies and warm temperatures. Those days we were lucky enough to rent a pontoon boat and truly enjoy the Lake Life. I put together a couple of short videos with highlights of our boat adventures.

I tagged along on a morning cruise with my sisters in law and nieces(along with my youngest nephew). Many laughs were had, birds noticed and, most importantly, relaxation achieved!

There really is no time like family time.

The above is a montage of our two sunset cruises. More giggles, reminiscing and catching up while enjoying the sights and sounds of the lake. The first day we were out on the boat, the smoke from the wildfires in Canada was pretty prevalent. You can see that from the beautiful sunsets in the video. It's funny how nature can make the most of a bad situation.

Lake Life (aka Mama's Week Long Blog Takeover)

This week, the pups are taking a break while I do a bit of travel journaling about our recent trip to Minnesota. You may see this a bit more on the blog in the future. The pups do have a lot to say, and I want to make sure I get every second of their big wonderful lives documented (I can't tell you how I treasure the past posts I have of Bilbo, Dory, Jakey and Arty). But, as I get older, I want a place where I can go back and see all the beautiful things both Ed and I have done where, much to their dismay, the pups haven't been able to join us.

No worries if you can't stick around, but if you do, I promise beautiful views and a glimpse at our week living a "Lake Life".

The pups will return next week.

Back in July, Ed and I headed up north to Minnesota for our "Every other year" reunion with the Christians' side of the family. We were been lucky enough to stay at the same beautiful VRBO we occupied in 2023. The house is humungous and has no problem holding the 19 of us. The best feature? It is located on a beautiful lake in Park Rapids and is the perfect place to enjoy a lovely week of "Minnesota Lake Life".

Swallow Tail on Nature Friday

Welcome to Nature Friday, where we get to meet new friends and share a picture or two of what nature looks like around Blogville. This week we have some pictures (and a short video) of the pretty Yellow Swallowtail butterfly to share.

The Yellow Swallowtail is by far the prettiest flutterby we see in our area.

Although Mama took this series of pictures at the ABQ Botanic Garden, we see these beautiful creatures all over our backyard and neighborhood during the Spring and Summer.

The beautiful butterfly not only lives in parts of the Americas, it can also be found throughout Europe and Asia.

As you might be able to tell from the pictures, the Yellow Swallowtail is drawn to pink or mauve flowers and only dines on flower nectar.

Thankful to be a Dog in Good Health

Sunny here today to tell you about my recent check up at the Dogtur!

I was a bit concerned when I went into the exam room with Mama.....

There were pictures of kitties EVERYWHERE

Ummmmm Mama????

They don't think I'm a KITTY, do they???

Although I was worried, I am happy to say that the Vet reassured me that I was NOT a kitty. WHEW! Boy was I thankful to hear that news!

I am also thankful that all my bloodwork was good. Except for a little eye problem that we are taking care of with drops, I am a very healthy PUPPY DOG!!

Nothing against kitties (~please don't hurt me Oona~)

We love all kitties....I am just very used to being a puppy dog.

Hummer Fun on BackPORCH Wildlife Wednesday

Hummy Sunny here today with my pal Uni to show the first TC Hummingbird movie of this season! Although it took the silly little hummers awhile to get here, we are happy to report that they are out and about buzzing and arguing on the back porch!
