FFF on Nature Friday Summer Smile

Summer  Smiles
by Arty

Drives down the coast
Making the most
of long days of sun
Mamas hair in a bun
Warm breezes
not many sneezes
 Warm sun in the sky
 the times flies by
as we spend days at the shore
looking for more....
Sandy miles and
Summer smiles

Summer Fun!

Nothing is more fun on a sunny afternoon, than playing with my ball.

I can chase it or just walk around the backyard with it

Sometimes I bring it back to Mama when she throws it
(but only SOMEtimes)

Most of the time though, I just like to chew on it!

Today I am thankful for a ball to call my very own!

Sunny Awwws!

This past Saturday, I turned three months old!
Mama says, I am progressing nicely with all my training. Here are some of my biggest milestones so far:

-I can sit on command
-I can go up and down the stairs all by myself!
-I can lay down some of the time on command...if the treat is good enough!
-I am going through my tunnel
-I am sitting quietly in the living room
-I am letting the pawrents know when I have to go outside(for some reason they are VERY happy about this one!
I- will let Mama put bandanas on me, and I will even pose nicely
(once again, the treat value MUST be worth my time!)
-I leave Jakey alone (mostly because he ignores me).
-Rosy and I LOVE to play and I am learning when she says no, I need to find something else to do (The pawrents AND Rosy are very happy about this!)
-I am PLAYPEN FREE! I have a big girl crate downstairs for naptime, and my upstairs crate for night time, other than that, I am FREE to roam around the family room and kitchen!

There are some things we are still working on:
-I love big dog food, and will eat it if the pawrents leave it down
-That whole "Come when I call" thing is over rated...and I refuse to come see Mama or Daddy unless they have some delicious treaties and, if I am eating a leaf or a flower, all bets are off!
- Then, there is the whole Arty thing. For some reason he does not like me and the feeling is mutual.  Let's just say, there is a new second in command, and Arty and I need to figure things out after I get a bit bigger. Mama says she will explain better in another post.

Can you guess my MOST FAVORITE game right now??
If you guess TUGGY, you are right!!!

Mama made this short video to you my moves!!

Birthday Rosy in the Roses

Today, on this beautimous Nature Friday, I am wrapping up my birthday week with a recap of my Birthday walk at the Humboldt Botanical Gardens!!

Once again, we saw soooo many lovely flowers!

Since it  is  MY birthday week, I thought it would be nice to include mostly rosies. You know, cause that is my name too!
Here is a nice soft pale yellow rose...with a touch of pink!

We also found a brighter yellow rose with more pointy petals!

Although I tried my best to have her stick to rosies, Mama did take pictures of a couple of other flowers.
Those Mamas...they are so very hard to train completely, aren't they??

Here is a red, dahlia like flower....

What cool swirly stamen on these little pink flowers, don't you think???

Now, let's get back to the roses...here are some of mine and Mamas favorite color roses, the pink ones!

A soft pinky purple rose

Here is a deeper pink rosie...with a swirl of middle petals!

This one is Mama's favorite, a white rose with a pink lining!

Are you wondering what my favorite was??

It's this pretty climbing rose, it was just perfect....

For  my annual Daddy and Rosy selfie!!

Thanks so much for coming along with me for a walk through the rosies and thank you for all the birthday wishes! Being three doesn't feel too much different than being two, but  I have to say...I do love celebrating!!

Rosy here today, in our buzzing backyard! I don't about your part of Blogville, but we have been been seeing more bees than usual in our area!

So, of course, Mama has been out with her camera taking pictures of them!

There are bumble bees

AND honey bees!!

We are very thankful to have so many bees around to pollinate everything AND give Mama something else to take pictures of besides us!

Trillium, Elk and Oceans Oh My!

Arty here today on another beautiful Nature Friday!! Today, as pawmised, here are a few of my favorite moments from my Mama and Me road trips to the Eye Dogtur!  I asked Mama to put together a little map to give you an visual of our travels!

Mama really enjoys this road trip because it covers everything from the forest to the ocean and itty bitty towns to more hustling and bustling towns...Plus, there is virtually NO traffic anywhere along the way!
 Now...let's get to the highlights!

My first appointment was way back in March, right after the whole human COVID thing. We had a few beautiful early Spring morning rides through the Redwood forest...The gray mist makes everything look soooo green!!

The forest drive is also a great place to spot Mama's favorite wildflowers, Trillium! Trillium blooms in the mid to late Spring here in our forest, so we had the chance to see quite a few of these beauties!

Although there are many different varieties of Trillium, we mostly just see this tri-petal beauty in white. Mama did spot some deep red Trillium, but couldn't find a place to pull over and take pictures.

I'll really miss stopping at my favorite rest stop along the Rogue River! It was always nice to take a long walkie listening to the river running just out of site(it's right on the other side of the bramble bush). Mama was VERY thankful for this rest area because it was the only potty place open on our whole(3.5-4 hour) ride during the height of the pandemic!!

On our last trip, we even got to see some elk!! Elk come out at sunrise and sunset to feed on the lush greenery.  We even sometimes see them resting in meadows during the heat of the day.

Mama and I worry because these guys aren't even phased by all the cars going by!! We always worry a truck, or other crazy human will be speeding by and not see these gorgeous giants grazing on the side of the road.

Of course, no trip would be complete without a stop by my ocean on the way home....

It was the perfect way to relax after an eye dogtur appointment!

Thanks so much for joining me today as I reminisced about my Mama and Me road trips. Paws crossed our next road trip doesn't involve any dogturs!!
