Thankful, soon to be 300 Thursday!

Mama says I am all better and cleared for squirrel hunting, chasing and general outside playing!! Thank you sooooo much for all the good wishes. It never ceases to amaze me and Mama just how many wonderful you all are out in the blogosphere!!

Well since this is our 299th post and our Blogoverary was on June 24th, Mama says that it is close enough to have our Blogoversary/300 Post contest!! We are all about easy contests with little or no rules so here goes:

As you know there are three of us pups here now and that means we are officially a pack! We are lacking one thing tho....a pack name!! So we thought and we thought (the room got really smoky) and came to the conclusion that who knows us better than you all do!!

So....here is the deal. Think on it and leave us a comment with a pack name that you think would be good for us. We will take names up until next Tuesday at 11:59pm Texas time (that is U.S. Central Time Mama says). Thennnnnnnn, our Daddy will pick his favorite three next Wednesday....We will put those in a hat Thursday morning and we will announce the winner next Thursday during our Thankful Thursday post!! Don't worry....we will be keeping a list of potential names that you give us on our sidebar and remind you when time starts running out.

What will the winner get???? Wellllllll how about a bag of nummy fresh home made COOKIES!!! PLUS...we will donate $25 to Lifelong Friends in the winners name!

Wordless Wednesday...Kinda

Doctor Bilbo (in Charge of Course!)

Hi All, Bilbo here with a Dory update.

She is feeling a bit like her old self...she didn't keep her dinner down last night...but she kept a cookie down this morning and went outside to say hello (and chase them) to the squirrels. So Mama is going to keep an eye on Dory and see how she feels through the day. Mama says Dory's eyes don't have their usual twinkie. I told her DUH that is because she is not Twinkie...she is a Lhasa not Chi!!

I am taking good care of her though and making sure that Jacob stays out of trouble! Well...as much as I can, he is finding any mud that he can and digging, running, roaching...see how dirty his feeties are!!?

Now I need to get back to my sunbeam and sister watching duties...Mama and Dory say thanks for all the healing wishes...we think they are working!

Sickie Girl...

I know that I was dancing on tables last night...but I was only drinking fruit punch!! We are postponing our big contest announcement until Thursday...for now, I am going back to sleepies...

From Mama: Dory could use some happy healing thoughts....I think she ate something that didn't agree with her yesterday and can't keep much of anything down. We are keeping our eyes on her, she still has her appetite and just ate dinner...We are saying a little prayer that is stays down. If not, we will be visiting the vet tomorrow.

The Name Game

Thanks to Frankie for coming up with the idea of doing a name game on July 4th. We can't wait to read about how everyone got their names!! We wish we had some big complicated reason that we are named what we are named...Oh well, we blame our humans for spending too much time reading and watching silly movies and TV shows....Anyway...here goes...

Bilbo

I had the unfortunate timing of being born around the same time that the silly Lord of the Rings trilogy made it's movie debut....Mama and Daddy actually named me when they were on their way to pick me up...Little did they know how I would live up to my name. I am named after Bilbo Baggins, and I am a headstrong pup that doesn't like adventure. I also wish I had a magical ring that I could put on and become invisible! Needless to say, Mama did not think this name through....you would be amazed what people thought she was calling me when I was a puppy...That was one of the main reasons she started calling me Boney Man. Boney Man is my biggest nickname besides NO and OUTSIDE BILBO!

Dory

I bet you all don't have to guess too hard to know what character I was named after

...yep..."Keep on Swimmin'" Dory!

Our humans named me Dory because I am ever so outgoing, always happy and want everyone to be my friend...whether they want to or not. I am also fond of shiny things! I have many nicknames including Mama's favorite, Little Missy Poo Poo and Dorable (after some silly computer in a Heinlein novel).

and Last but not least

Jacob

My name came from some silly show that Mama and Daddy didn't even WATCH until the beginning of this year then they couldn't stop watching it and watched all the seasons in just a few months!

I am the strong silent type like this Jacob...plus Daddy said that he couldn't name me after the man in black, cause they never told us his name.

Some people think that I was named after this Jacob

But Mama is totally on Team Edward....I say why couldn't I have a normal name like Spot or Rover???

It could have been worse I suppose, Mama was really close to naming me Oy after some silly thing called a Billy Bumbler in a book series she reads over AND over.

The humans are just starting to call me by nicknames cause I just learned my name. Lately they have been calling me Jake...and Jakey Boy.

Well, those are our names....and how we got them.

Well, the names our humans call us. We all have or special dog and kitty names that no one else knows!
