Happy Travel Movie Tuesday!

Friday Morning we packed up our campsite at the Cloverdale/Healdsburg KOA and headed south! Our destination? The Santa Cruz/Monterey KOA!!

The ride seemed to take 87 hours!!

Oh Arty, it was only 5 hours or so, and we did stop and take a break for lunch!

Anyway...when we got to the campground, Daddy got CeCe ready and we did some sniff-axing!
That's a cross between sniffing and relaxing(in case you didn't know).
We actually used this campsite as sort of a hotel room. We spent the two full days we were here in two other locations. One we will be showing you this Nature Friday and the other we are saving for next Tuesday.

We did spend some time hanging out at the Campground though!

You wouldn't believe all the squirrels hanging around!!! One of the best activities about camping is the wildlife, right?? Well, we REALLY enjoyed squirrel watching.

Here is a little video of some morning squirrel watching we did!

You can also watch it HERE on YouTube

Another favorite activity of ours was "Strollin'" through the campground!  Arty thinks he is King of the World when he gets to ride in his stroller!

Watch this and you can see for yourself!

You can also watch it HERE on YouTube

(To answer a few of your questions..Yes, this was Dory's and then Rosy's stroller. We bring it on most of Arty's walks now. He really enjoys walking, but sometimes we(Rosy and pawrents) want go farther than he can go, especially if it's warm outside. So instead of cutting the walk short, Arty just gets to go "strollin'" for the remainder of the walk)

The last night at the campground we got to have a CAMPFIRE!!

The temperatures were pretty chilly, and there was a breeze that made it feel cooler so it was nice to have a fire that would keep us warm while we sat outside!

We just had to watch out for the smoke! It seemed to follow us where ever we sat!!
There were even campfire snackies!! The pawrents had s'mores while we had our favorite snack, Greenies, in front of the campfire.

What a pawsome way to  finish up a great camping trip!!

But this isn't the end of our tail, so to speak
(Teeheehee)

Stay tuned on Nature Friday to see the first of the fun places we went while we were staying along the Central California Coast!!!

Nature Friday in Cloverdale, CA

We couldn't think of a more pawfect place for Nature Friday this week than in the midst of nature itself!
Today, we are going to show you a bit from our hike through the Cloverdale/Healdsbug KOA. This is the camp ground we told you about on our last Travel Tuesday Post.

Arty took his stroller on this walk.  Lately he's been getting tired a bit quicker and really enjoys "strolling" around.

But enough about Arty, let's get this walkie started!

First, we walked along the pretty pond we showed you earlier this week. We were thrilled when we got to stay in a campsite right across from the pond during our homeward bound stop!

We finally got to see this quacky duo.  They didn't get too close, but did quack a quick hello! Daddy said he kept waiting for them to say "AFLAC"...silly Daddy!
(for our readers outside the USA you can click HERE to see where Daddy got that idea)

Mama and Daddy saw this cutie watching us at some point along our hike.

For some reason, they didn't tell Arty and I he was there! Can you believe it??
I mean SHEESH, we wouldn't have barked TOO loud, BOL!

After awhile, Daddy and I blazed the trail for Mama and Arty in search of some nature views!

We found these beautiful flowers, Mama thinks it might be Jerusalem Sage.

There were vineyards and farms both, in the valleys and the taller hills all around us.

We even saw the moon coming up over a vineyard!

But the prettiest sight we saw was the sun setting right outside of CeCe!!

We had Mama video to show you how beautimous is was, make sure to turn the sound up so you can hear all the different sounds of nature.
You can also watch it HERE on YouTube

Thanks for coming along with us on our nature hike in through Cloverdale/Healdsburg KOA today!

Make sure to stay tuned next week for more CeCe adventure !!

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE  to go to our Hoppity Page.

Hollywood Jake

Mama says I remind her of Jimmy Stewart, mild mannered and endearing.
Like in the movie It's a Wonderful Life.

But I'm thinking I am MUCH more like Tom Selleck in
Magnum P.I. I always get the bad guy and have great chest furs!

What do you think???

Happy Dogs on Travel Tuesday

Before we start this week's Travel Tuesday, I wanted to thank everyone for all the wonderful Birthday wishes yesterday. I had a great day, there were walkies and treats...and I even spent some time in CeCe(the wheelie house) with my sister, Sunny!
For some reason, Mama and Daddy were VERY happy about this(more about this another day).

 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Come on, Arty, let's tell everyone about Day One of what Daddy calls, Our Search for Warm Weather, trip!

First of all, it was a little weird. We didn't ride in CeCe(Mama drove us in the Rogue so we could make a few fun side trips), but we did stop and take a little break in CeCe on the way to our first camp ground. While Mama and Daddy ate lunch, I stood guard to make sure no squirrels or birdies came near CeCe!! After our little stop, it was only a little over an hour before we arrived at our first spot!

Our first afternoon and evening were spent at the Cloverdale/Healdsburg KOA.
This park exceeded our expectations in every way! We expected a little park with tight spaces and not much for us pups to do. Boy, were we wrong!!!

This park had beautiful trails to hike, with dazzling views of the surrounding hills and vineyards!!

It was so beautiful that Mama kept stopping and having us pose for pictures. Eventually I let her know enough was enough and gave her a big ole raspberry!!

After a while I got a little tired and Daddy carried me for awhile, isn't he pawsome?!!

Here is a pretty picture of one of the vineyards. See it way up on the hill???

After our nice hike, we stopped by this pond. It's the same one from our FFF post last Friday.

You see, Rosy read this sign.....

....and thought it would be a great place to "unwind" after our long day! Teeheehee, more like "wind up". Let's just say there was a little bit of barking going on after we saw the ducks!

After a nice dinner, we went out for our last walk before bedtime and just look at the beautiful sunset we saw!!

In case you were wondering, we didn't find any warm weather here. The highs were in the low 50s(F) and it got down into the 40s(F) at night. But the sun was out, making it seem a little warmer. That's a start, right?

After all the traveling and hiking, we were exhausted!

Rosy fell asleep watching TV with Mama and Daddy

...and I fell asleep in my fuzzy bed!

Rosy did enjoy her bedroom view the next morning!

Stay tuned next week to see where our adventure led us  and whether or not we found warmer weather!

PLUS,
Stay tuned Friday when Rosy will show you more of the nature we glimpsed here at the Cloverdale/Healdsburg KOA!
