One day last week while I was doing my backyard security rounds I met a NEW FURIEND!!
Her name is Xena, well...that is what she told me her name was...Xena, the Great Kitty Bird Hunter Princess.
She says she likes hunting birdies, and my backyard was like a birdie buffet
"GASP!!!"
But birdies are not for eating Miss Xena, they are for watching and feeding and protecting.
Oh No Miss Dory, Kitties like to hunt birds and bring them in to present to our hoomans as proof of our greatness.
Oh Miss Xena, how will we ever be friends?? I am sworn to protect the birdies in my backyard.
Miss Dory, you are a great birdie protector and I mayhaps I shall just WATCH the birdies from the comfort of my fence, and your yard shall be a safe haven for all birdies.
Until next time my new friend!!
Until next time my new friend!!
Mama...did you SEE that Kitty???!!!
hmmmm you may not be the bestest of friends for long...

Hi Dory,
ReplyDeleteMy mom would be very happy if me and Banjo protected the birdies but we are more like Zena and think the birdies should be snacks.
Waggles,
Bijou
Dory Xena is very cute. Hopefully she will listen to you , that birds need to be protected. Keep on letting her know oK?

What a pretty kitteh! Tell Xena that she's not allowed to hunt on your lawn!
ReplyDeleteYou'd better watch Xena. You're doing a grrreat job guarding those birdies, Dory!

Hmmm...Perhaps you could get her to help you with the tree rats instead!
ReplyDeleteBunny
She is a very pretty cat, but Dory, I would keep a close eye on her if I were you!

Hi Dory - your new pal Xena is very pretty! This just goes to show that friendship takes all forms - if the great birdie hunter and the great birdie protector can be pals it is a great example to us all. You are an inspiration to us all. Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool friend! I'll bet you two gal pals will be birdie watching together before too long!
ReplyDeletePlay bows,
Zim
BOL!
ReplyDeleteWatch our Dory! That adorable kitty may have some sharp claws.
Lots of Luv & Kisses

Um. You might just want to keep an eye on Xena - sometimes it's hard to control instinct... I'm just saying...

I don't know. Those feline puppies can be strange sometimes! :)
ReplyDeleteHey, maybe Xena could help you with the squirrels! She could chase them from above while you are waiting down below! A little inter-species teamwork, ya' know what I mean?
ReplyDeleteSnorts-
Brutus the Frenchie
Dory! What a great compromise. That the way that trouble be stopped!
ReplyDelete~lickies, Ludo

ReplyDeleteToby

Interesting action happening in your backyard. Birdies and kitties ... hmmm, not a good combination. But maybe all can live side-by-side in harmony, with you as the diplomatic Dory doggy girl. Well, whatever happens in your backyard is one story - but sitting on the fence, they're in between things. So ... you must be delicate in helping keep the balance.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Hi, Dory!
ReplyDeleteGlad you told Xena about being good with the birdies... at least the ones that come to your yard!
I hope you two are still friends!
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
Hey you adorable pup! I love the "gasp" BOL. I like to look at the world through your eyes.
ReplyDeleteTwinkie
Xena is so adorable. I hope you are able to protect the birds.:)
ReplyDeleteLove,
Teddy Bear
Dory,
ReplyDeleteZena is a very pretty kitty but you are right that the birdies should be watched and enjoyed not eaten.
You are a great protector of little birds. I hope you have convinced Zena to change her ways.
Hugs & Purrs,
Judy and Cindi Lou
Dory
ReplyDeleteNice work telling XENA the PRINCESS BIRD HUNTING Warrior about the bird rules. You are beautiful and tough as nails.
norwood
This Xena seems a little more willing to compromise than that other Xena.
ReplyDeleteOh Dory not only do you have to be on squirrel patrol now you have to be on orange cat patrol!!! How dare she use her jumping powers to tease you!! If it continues I'll come down for a face to face with her.
ReplyDeleteMadi and Mom
Hmmmm, looks like you will not only be birdwatching but you may need to start kitty watching too so your birdies are safe. Xena is very pretty but be careful.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
CAT!!! Dory! A CAT on YOUR FENCE! Be careful... those things have CLAWS! I'd keep it out of the yard and just talk to it from a distance. Talk LOUDLY! The CCC
ReplyDeleteWE saw her Dory! Maybe next time she visits you can convince her to go after the squirells instead!
