TGIF and Happy Flower Friday!!!
We are also Seeing Beautiful around Blogville today
during the {This Moment} See Beautiful Blog Hop
held on the 2nd Friday of each month!
Today, we are finding the beauty in our very own neighborhood!!
First, I just want to take a minute and thank the people who invented the Fitbit thingy for humans!! Let me tell you, we have gone on more walkies since our Mama got one of these than we have had in a long time!!
We are also seeing lots of beautimus flowers along the way!
Lovely California Poppies
Dogwood Blooms
Lately Mama has been taking Arty and I on walkies at the same time! She says we have to get in lots of practice walking together before our roadtrip to the BAR in THREE WEEKS!
(We are a bit excited!)
Look, I found a beautimous natural bouquet!
(Sorry, I am a bit embarrassed that Mama cannot learn the names of all these flowers!)
Some Orange Daisies!
Mama says this kind of looks like a purple columbine flower.
If any Mama, Daddy or Auntie knows what kind of flower it is can you leave it in the comments please??
Here I am smelling the pee on the flowers, Arty was in too much of a hurry to stop...silly pup!
These are purple daisy type flowers
(MAMA...you need to get a California Flower book or something!!)
More pretty red flowers
Pink Fuzzy Flowers
Lots of peemail here Mama, but none identifying these flowers!!
Beautiful red blooms against the blue sky!!
Itty bitty Daisies!
This flower wasn't much bigger than my paw and was growing out of the mulch!!
...and we'll wrap things up with this pretty yellow
Poppy!
Thanks so much for walking with me (and Arty) around our neighborhood.
We hope you all can get out and see the beauty around your neighborhood this weekend!
We always look forward to joining with See Beautiful, Sugar and others in the {This Moment} Seeing Beautiful Blog Hop!
We are also hosting the Flower Friday Blog Hop!

ReplyDeleteDory - what a FABulous walkies you had for today!!!
The blue flower up top is a Delphinium (aka 'Larkspur')
The 'bouquet' is not one I am familiar with, but clearly a lily relative of some sort - possibly an amaryllis type?
The orange is a simple-form calendual - African Daisy - more closely related to sunflowers and marigolds than true daisies.
Definitely one of the many forms of aquilegia (Columbine), that purple one.
You are sniffing the very delicious salad flower, nasuturtium.
the last purple is a form of Aster - another of the daisy-family.
The next orange looks like a form of gladiolus to me.
...and am stumped on that pink fuzzy!!!
Does all that help??? Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Thank you for sharing your beautiful walk.

Hi Dory, that purple columbine looks like the Midnight Columbine that I planted last year. I love it and it bloomed almost that exact color already this year here too. Love Love all the flowers around your Hood! We have had lots of early blooms but sadly temps are 20 degrees colder than normal today and they say we may actually get frost in some areas tonight. Extremely late for this area of the Midwest.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful Dory! And we enjoyed following you on your walk! Maybe your mom might be interested in a coupler for walking you and Arty together?
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
It's okay if you don't know all the names of the flowers. We are just happy to see the beautiful blooms.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely neighborhood to walk in!

Crikey ..... you've sure got sme pretty flowers n your neighbourhood, aye?? Who cares what they're called as long as they're there!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers you and Arty saw on your walk. Hard to believe you'll be at the BAR in 3 weeks.
ReplyDeleteBeeyoutifull flowers!
ReplyDeleteMomma knows some of da native California flowers... if y'all want to plant any, she recommends gettin' some Western Wildflower mix from Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg... she did dat when dey lived in California and sez dey were gorjus!! She really liked da Farewell to Spring, said dose were her faves.
Dat purple one looks like a columbine to her....
Wonderful how much beauty you see on your walkies. Yay for the fit bit!
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing us the beautiful flowers. Over the years, sometimes we had three doggies in the house. There is a think that hooks onto the end of a regular lead that has a latch for three dogs. That way, there wasn't that tangle of multiple leashes. It works great for two dogs too.
