Road Tripping to Texas

Happy Travel Tuesday!

A couple of Saturdays ago, Mama and Daddy woke us up early for a big adventure! It's funny how, on the first warmer day of the year,  the pawrents get antsy to get out and about!

After our morning routine, they put us in JeeJee the Jeep....

....and we headed out on a road trip!!!

We hit the road going east on Route 66 for a day of fun!

Mama said we were going to see the furry guy in this Billboard.  The pawrents saw him back in the olden days, before he got popular in Texas, but Sunny and I had never visited a Buc-Ee's.

We stopped for a few nice walkies along the way.

...and saw a few trains too!

Finally, we crossed the Texas border. I, Rosy, have been to Texas back when I was just a wee pup.

This is a new state for Sunny though.  Daddy says she definitely has a Texas attitude and wears her pink cowboy hat with pride!

Before long, we arrived at Buc-Ee's!!!
(For those of you who may not have heard of Buc-Ee's
it is a travel center/gas station chain that originated near Austin, Texas and has expanded to stores throughout  South and Southeast United States.)

We took another long walk around the building, and then took a nap while the pawrents went in to look around and get some lunch!

Mama took WAY too many photos to post, so she put together a video:

(As always, feel free to visit our YouTube Channel HERE)

I am glad we stopped at the Amarillo Buc-Ees, it was over 1,000 miles to the next one BOL!!!

Sunny is still having a hard time with the whole
"We traveled a total of 8 hours and all we got was a stuffed BEAVER?"
thing.....

It's all about the journey, Sunny...not the destination!

We are joining Sandee at Comedy Plus for the

  3. Amarilla by morning, might need to change the words, depending on when you got there. I thought he beaver was a ground hog until I saw it in the movie... that is one huge sandwich, notice I go straight for the food. ha ha... that is a long ride to see a beaver, but now Sunny has another state so that and the train make it ok

  4. We saw signs for Bucees when we did our Florida trip a few years ago but had no idea what it was all about. Since then we have not been around any of them. One of these days we will find one and check it out. Happy travels! We can't wait to hit the road again in a couple weeks.

  8. Sunny, we agree with you, doesn't Buc-Ees sell tasty treats for dogs?? We hear they have everything and more. We are getting one near us soon in KC,KS. Mom is excited to see what all the hype is about.

  9. Xena: I watched the video to see all the great pictures of you, Rosy!
Chia: I watched the video to see all the great pictures of YOU, Sunny! And I'd be disappointed too if I didn't get some great treats, like when I go to Freestyle, and that sure doesn't take 8 hours!
Lucy: It's not about the treats, it's about the trip, right, Rosy? (But I'm afraid of riding in the car.)

  10. Didn't you get any jerky? Any time I drive to Texas, if I can stop at a Buc-ees, I have to bring back jerky for my boys.

  11. Wait, a 1000 miles? I thought there was a Buc-ees in Katy and just south of Austin. There's now one in Northern Colorado but we haven't been there yet. People around here treat it like a vacation stop with way too many tourists. ;) Have fun on your Texas trip.
