Yoda Sunny here today to turn the blog over to Mama to tell you about the side trip she and Daddy took to Hatch, NM with the RV Club.
Thanks Yoda Sunny!

The Saturday after we arrived in Elephant Butte started off nice, but by late morning the wind had picked up, temperatures dropped and clouds moved in. A ride to the small town of Hatch, NM for lunch seemed a better alternative than spending the day indoors.

Farming is the main economy booster in Hatch, they are known as "The Chile Capital of the World"
for their Hatch Chiles.

Hatch had a rocky start. It was originally settled in 1851, but settlers would abandon the area twice before finally incorporating the Village of Hatch in 1875.

Hatch has a Chile festival every Labor Day weekend that brings over 30,000 visitors to the area.

We had lunch in Sparky's, a hamburger joint that opened over 20 years ago. They boast having "The World's Best Green Chile Cheeseburger"
Ed and I gave it a try, and it was definitely a good burger!

Their eclectic decor was almost as good as their cheeseburgers!

After lunch, we walked around town to check out the local shops.

We saw everything from spices, pottery and local handmade items to these very cool metal sculptures.

Ed, I and the RV Club had a wonderful afternoon exploring Hatch and Elephant Butte on Easter weekend.
I put together a short video of our getaway:

Thanks for the cool Hatch info, Mama!
