POTP and Flashback Travel Tuesday - The Lighthouse Tour!

First off, our BFFF Madi, could really use some POTP to feel better and gain some weight. You can visit her blog HERE to let her know your thinking of her!

 Since yesterday was National Lighthouse Day, and we all KNOW Mama can never get enough of lighthouse, we thought we would do a Flashback Travel Tuesday of when Angel Dory and I went on our original Lighthouse tour!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Arty here today to tell you all about Day Two of our Road Trip!!
I awoke nice and early, you know like 2:30 am, and was ready to get going!! Mama and Dory said it was WAY too early tho, so after getting a drink of water I went back to sleep until 6am. Then it was time to wrangle the girls out of bed and get ready to go!
Dory, flashy beast alert!!
Mama got us dressed first, and took us out for a short morning walkie.
I'll just keep you company while you get ready, Mama!
 After we got back I decided to eat a bite or two of breakfast. While I was eating,  Dory kept Mama company while she took a shower and got ready.
Don't worry Dory, she won't turn the water on. Right, Mama???
Then Mama thought it would be cute to put us in the spa tub for a photo shoot. Sometimes, you just have to humor the Mamas, right??
All ready to go back here, Mama!!
Finally we were ready to hit the road!! Unknown to us, Mama had recently downloaded an app for her iPhone that tells her where EVERY LIGHTHOUSE IN THE USA is(boy is Daddy in trouble!). As soon as we realized this, along with the fact we were driving along the ocean the whole way home, we KNEW we were in for a day of silly lighthouses!!
Yaquina Bay Lighthouse
  This lighthouse was very close to our hotel, and Mama stopped here to drink her coffee and eat some breakfast before hitting the road!
Rocky Coastline
 This part of the Oregon coast is famous for it's beautiful scenery along Route 101!!
Walkie Time!
We stopped at Heceta Lighthouse for our big morning walkie!
Let's go THIS way!!
The trail was just a little over a mile  (1/2 of it up hill)  to the lighthouse, so we knew it would be great exercise for all of us, and not too much for Miss Dory!
Beautiful Views
Such beautiful coastline views along the way!
Hey Arty, I think there is a squirrel down here!!
 There were lots of good smells and very interesting peemails to read!
That sure is a big lighthouse, Mama!!
 Finally we made it to the top of the hill and saw the very cool
Heceta Lighthouse!!
Mama, you better have treats!!
We made our way back down the hill and posed for another photo shoot before hitting the road again!
Umpqua River Lighthouse
 Before we knew it (there might have been a short nap or two), Mama was pulling over at the next lighthouse!
Mama has visited this lighthouse with Daddy before, so she just hopped out and took a quick picture and we hit the road again!!
Cape Arago Lighthouse
Mama drove and drove to find this lighthouse.  The road that led to it was blocked off, lucky for us (or not) Mama has a lighthouse magnet in her head and got lucky found a place to take a picture of it! This ride taught Mama to read the information about the lighthouses BEFORE taking a one hour ride to try and find them.
Coquille River Lighthouse
By now, it was getting to be the middle of the afternoon and we got to the next lighthouse just in time for our next big walkie! After morning clouds and fog, it turned out to be a beautimous afternoon for a walkie!
Mama...I don't even think that is a REAL lighthouse!!!
 We had a wonderful day full of pretty scenery and WAY too many lighthouses, but we finally did make it home and were soooo tired we went right to sleep!! Lighthouses can get VERY tiring!!
Boy, road trips sure are fun!!
Thanks for joining us for this fun flashback!
Flower Friday in Napa Valley
Mini Bilbo here today wishing you a Happy Flower Friday!
Today, Mama and I are going to show you some of the flowers we saw while we were visiting Napa Valley!!
The grounds of the Harvest Inn, where we stayed, had so many flowers Mama could hardly put her camera down! The above are only few varieties of the different roses they had!
There were plenty of these pretty purple flowers!
The Daylilies were beautiful!
Mama really enjoyed the contrast between the yellow flowers and white leaves on this flower!
We saw all kinds of hydrangeas....
This beautiful blue Mophead Hydrangea
This pretty pink Lacecap Hydrangea...
...and even some delicate Mountain Hydrangeas!
 We also saw some nice looking flowers around St. Helena!
Beautiful flower boxes...
Roses with the colors of the sunset...
We saw some beautiful Crepe Myrtle...
...here's a closer look, isn't it pretty??
This Mimosa tree bloom made Mama smile...
...and we sure wish you could smell this Magnolia blossom!
Back at the resort, we saw this beautiful Rose of Sharon
tree..
...and even an Orange tree!!!
I know this isn't a flower, but we wanted to leave you with this picture of the beautiful Redwood Grove we found on the resort grounds. We can't tell you how much we enjoyed the beauty in Napa Valley!
(and yes, Mama really enjoyed the grape juice they have there too!)
We hope you enjoyed the flowers we found in Napa Valley and hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
Hop aboard and show us the flowers blooming in your corner of the world (If you don't see the link here, please click HERE to go to our Hoppity page)!!
Thankful Thursday
We have a few things to be thankful for on this pawsome Thankful Thursday, so let's get right to them! First, we are thankful that it is finally AUGUST!! You know what that means don't you Jakey?
I sure do Arty, it means that in a couple of weeks we'll be hopping in the car and heading to the Mini Bar in Oregon to see some of our Blogville furiends in the furs!! Not only that, but we'll get to stay in a wheelie house again!! I can't WAIT!!
 Me neither Jakey, me neither!  I call dibs on this cool shirt for the weekend!
 That leads us to the next thing we are thankful for!
My Best Gal, Mabel's, Mom sent us a few of Mr. Bailey's outfits to wear. As you can see, we look almost as handsome as Mr. Bailey did in his Hawaiian shirt. But even more important, we feel honored and closer to both Mr. Bailey and our sissy Dory when we put this shirt on!!
 I agree Arty, thanks so much to Mabel's Mama(and Daddy) of thinking of us!!
  Now we have one last thing to be thankful for...we are thankful for Summertime on our Lost Coast! We feel very lucky that we live in a region where it doesn't get any warmer than 70 or so degrees in the hottest part of the Summer(and not much colder than 35 degrees in the Winter). Although sometimes Mama complains she could use some warmer days sometimes, we say a big THANK YOU to Mother Nature for keeping us cool!!
We hope everybody is finding something to be thankful for!!
 We are joining Brian for the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop this week!
