Arty here today, joining Ranger's Wacky Holiday Challenge
for National Lighthouse Day!!
(SURPRISE, right??)
You might remember Angel Dory and I taking the Endless Lighthouse Tour a couple of years ago (Click HERE to read more). Our Mama really loves lighthouses, and looks for them everytime we go for a ride along the ocean!
We have seen the Cape Arago lighthouse from far away....
...and the Umpqua lighthouse close up!
...and of course, we have Mama's most favorite lighthouse, the Haceda Head lighthouse from close up
AND far away!
Have you ever visited a lighthouse before?
How cool! I hasn't seen a lighthouse - yet.
ReplyDeleteoh lighthouses... what wonderful places they are... the mama likes the idea of living in a lighthouse more and more since we got the worst neighbors ever...

ReplyDeleteOh yes oh yes, I have even been right up into the light dome of one (in OZ). They are exciting and interesting and, very often, very pretty places!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Lighthouses are so awesome! Mom and dad have seen them from the outside but have never gone inside one.
ReplyDeleteWe lived by the Westerhever Lighthouse in Germany on the North Sea Coast. It's a famous one and it was neat to see. I've only seen one here and it was the Split Rock Lighthouse up north.
ReplyDeleteI love visiting Lighthouses! We won't be able to visit any today, but maybe I will share some of our previous pictures!
ReplyDeleteI once stood at the bottom of the steps of a lighthouse on Hilton Head Island and begged my hubby and children to not climb the steps, I once drove by one on New Smyrma Beach and I once saw one on Tybee Island. no camera back then and that was many moons ago since my kids are in their 50's
ReplyDeleteThat's terrific guys, lighthouses are super cool!
ReplyDeleteOh my cats your mom and my mom are just lighthouse crazy for sure.

Living inland, there isn't much opportunity seeing lighthouses but I have seen the Heceta Head Lighthouse when my daughter lived in Oregon. That's one of the prettiest beaches around and to see it at sunset is a real treat.
ReplyDeleteI love lighthouses and would love to see one up close! We saw one on our Alaskan cruise and I had Skipper race up top of the ship to snap pictures of it.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice seeing the picture with Angel Dory again. I was at a black and white striped lighthouse at Hilton Head, SC.
ReplyDeleteI have climbed the point Clark, Ontario lighthouse many times. I grew up near it and in the small town of Kincardine Ontario where the lighthouse is a big part of the history.
ReplyDeleteAwww! We loved seeing the picture of you and Dory!!!
ReplyDeleteOur mom loves lighthouses. Oddly enough, there aren't many of them here in Kansas, nor do I remember seeing any in my homeland of Missouri. We do pass one on our way to Mom's happy place, Quivira National Wildlife Refuge, but I think it's at a miniature golf place or something.
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
Well....we don't have them in central NSW, so we've never visited them. But those are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWe have never been to a lighthouse before. But we enjoyed seeing your great pictures of them!
ReplyDeleteWe don't think there are any lighthouses in Kansas, even at the Ao4's Kansas Ocean:) But you sure did find some beauties.

This day was made for your mom! What wonderful photos, and I love seeing Dory in them. We used to see lighthouses all the time. We lived on both coasts before settling in the mountains - I do miss the sea and the lighthouses (funny, there aren't any in the mountains -- there are fire lookouts instead!).
