I overheard Mama talking to her friend on the phone the other day about how hard it's been to find a reason to smile lately. I couldn't believe what I was hearing...Yeah, sure...there is a bunch of sad, scary and maddening human stuff going on in the world but, she has ME around every day!

So I decided to tell Mama are at least three things she has to smile about every day when I'm around!

First Mama....do you know how lucky you are to wake up with me right next to your face every morning. How could you NOT smile when I give you your morning kisses before you even open your eyes. Yes, I may have REALLY bad morning breath but sheesh, your breath isn't exactly flowery Mama!

Next, unlike Rosy and Arty who nap and play outside, I follow you around all day to make sure you are safe. At any time you can turn around and see my loving face looking up at you. I don't even mind that much when you trip over me! What's not to smile about?

Finally, I know Rosy likes to snuggle on your legs, Arty likes to sit next to you on the middle of the couch BUT you get to hold me RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR SIDE every night while we snuggle. How lucky are you Mama, to have three dogs to love you soooo much.

Furry Heart

I like to snuggle with Mama, especially when she has my blanket on her lap. I curl up in with one side leaning on her leg and fall fast asleep.

For some reason she says I am her little furry little heart dog....

My Birthday Adventure!

As promised today, on Nature Friday, I'm here to tell you about the Mama, Daddy and Birthday Boy Adventure I went on last Sunday!!

Mama did not take me to the dogtur in Oregon, but instead took me to one of my favorite places for a good ocean walk;
Stone Lagoon!!

We've shown you this beach before. It's the one where we walk up the beach towards this big boulder.

Although I guess we could have walked the other way too. Both sides of this beach are beautiful.

I frequently paused to breathe in the ocean air and listen to the surf.
The ocean always makes me happy!!

The little balls of sand verbena are popping up everywhere now that the sun and warmer weather has arrived!

The beach morning glory is also in full bloom! Most of them have little red spider mites running around them that gave Mama the willies!

During our walk back to the car we enjoyed searching the forest for elk. They like to come to Stone Lagoon...and some peeps have even seen them on the beach! Unfortunately, we didn't see any this trip.

It was a beautiful day and we did enjoy the green forest against the blue skies!

Sometimes, we take for granted how lucky we are to live so close to so much natural beauty...

After spending much of the late Winter and Spring couped up in the house, we are vowing to get out and enjoy nature more often this summer!
