Mama calls me her heart doggy....because we are BFF's.
Mama also says I have a very special heart because it murmurs..
I told her Mr. Bailey would probably like a girl with a heart that murmurs sweet nothings in his ear...BOL
I had my annual V-E-T visit yesterday and they did some "EX-RAYS" of my heart and lungs.
My heart was the normal size, and almost everything looked normal, but there
are some spots on my lungs that the V-E-T says may be fluid.
SO....I have to take this stuff called Lasix, that will make me go potty a bunch, and then the spots will go away and efurrything will go back to normal.
I don't think there will be any problem, but if you could send a bit of POTP it would make Mama feel better.
Sometimes she and Daddy worry way too much about me!

Dory goes back to the vet after we finish this cycle of Lasix. I don't have any experience with Lasix and was wondering if any other "Staff" have any experience with it?? I know it is a diuretic, and have looked it up online...so know the side effects and such...but don't know anyone who has used it, any input would be appreciated

ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet and love the one pink heart. So sorry to hear about your heart issues. My gramma had to start taking Lasix a couple months ago for water on in her lungs and she hates it. She switched to another brand which is a bit better, but she has to go to the bathroom all the time too. No fun. Hope you don't have to take it forever.

I have never known a canine that used it, my friend takes it to remove water but she is a hooman...POTP going up now

ReplyDeleteWe love your Sunday photo, Dory. Mom's Mom took lasix for fluid retention and did fine with it, but we don't know anything about it for dogs. We hope it does the trick - we need our sweet Dory to be doing just wonderfully well.

Beth, Sasha has a heart murmur and is on lasix regularly every other day along with 2 other medications. When she gets the lasix, she pees like crazy. I had to go back to potty pads because she doesn't always make it outside(don't tell Bilbo, she would be embarrassed). She is doing fine with it, she even occasionally pees on me when I hold her. It does help her and so far so good. I havent found any side affects from the lasix other than the peeing. The other meds she is on gives her a dry cough, which scares me and I hate it. As long as the meds are helping I will continue. I hope Dory does fine with them. Dory and Sasha have a beautiful hearts that love so much that they murmur sometimes. We are lucky Moms, but of course have to be cautious as times.
