Treats for Shelters - Happy Halloween!!!

!!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN !!!

Welcome to the second day of Treats for Shelters!!! If you aren't linked up yet, make sure to link to our Blop Hop by writing  a Halloween post about how you have/are or are going to help a shelter!

We are donating $1 (1 green paper) for every Linky to Williamson County Animal Shelter where both Arty and Jakey spent time! We are also donating 50 cents for every comment made on Friday, Saturday and Sunday so make sure to tell your fur-iends to stop by and say hi!

Today, I (Bilbo) am going to let you know how we decided to help our local shelter!

It all started when Arty and Mama saw this sign when they went to the V-E-T.  As soon as they showed it to me, I got things organized! First, I sent Mama to the store to get some treaties and peanut butter. Arty was in charge of guarding those and, well,  we all saw how that went yesterday! I told Mama to put the treaties in the car so Arty the mean pumpkinhead couldn't get into them!

These aren't going to fold themselves...DORY, ARTY, JAKEY!!
Next, I went through all the closets and had Mama get out all the old towels and blankets.
87 hours later I came up with this big pile!

I had the youngin's help fold and roll everything!

Then I had them put them neatly in the box.

OK Mama, you can put them in the car with the treats!

Join us tomorrow when Mama and Dory take a ride to the animal shelter to drop off the boxes!

We hope all our fur-iends have a Safe and Happy Halloween!

  3. PAwsome way to help shelter pets. We are so happy to find a small pet retail that supports the local shelter groups (on a monthly basis)/ Every time they have a monthy event they ask everyone to bring something for the shelters.

  4. It is wonderful that you are helping out your local shelter! Before we got Chloe, our Big Guy was adopted from our local shelter...he was the best dog and we had him for ten years. As a Newfy/Lab Mix, he was BIG. Chloe grew up with him and she misses him! We often stop by and donate toys, treats, beds, blankets, or anything else we can think of. They are always in need! Right now, they aren't even taking in any more dogs because they are just overwhelmed with dogs and cats right now. Thank you for all you do to help your local shelter guys!! We love your Halloween costumes!!

  7. This is so pawesome!! Our Mommy and Bub take boxes of tennis balls that Daddy gets from his tennis friend to the local shelters and we give blankey's in the winter. Mom also checks the sign of one of our shelters every time she goes to town cause they always change it to say what they are running low on so she can pick up whatever they need. Mom will try to get her post up tomorrow if she can find her pictures :)

    xoxo,

  16. You just gave us another idea - we have lots of "old" but useable towels and quilts. We are going to add them to our donation too. Many thanks again to your sweet Mom for helping us out with our Halloween costumes:)

  17. Checking the local wish lists is a great idea. There are lots of things that can be recycled. While not a shelter, our vet gets our old newspapers for her kennels. It is just another to reuse what otherwise would have to go in our recycle bins. Until you check out request lists you just don't know what you have that you might be able to rehome and free up some space in your own home or as with newspapers keep out of your recycle/trash pickup/drop off.

  24. What a wonderful idea. You have inspired us. We are off to the Pugoween fundraiser for PugALug Pug Rescue today and will see what more we can donate. We also make lots of videos about Kilo the Pug and other amazing rescues and donate revenue. We'll have to do a feature on your shelter and efforts #rescuesrock
