Adventures in LaLa Land!

Arty here today to share our whirlwind visit to Los Angeles! Daddy joined Mama and I on the way home and I have to say, it was so nice getting in some quality Daddy time.

We would only have a few hours to enjoy in LaLa Land, so I chose two different activities to enjoy.   First up was a trip up to the Griffith Park and Observatory where we could enjoy wonderful views of Los Angeles. Our journey started with a hike up an 87 mile high mountain(thanks for carrying me Dad!)...

...where we could appreciate just how HUMUNGOUS Los Angeles really is!!

The Griffith Observatory is actually a place to star gaze and is home to the Samuel Oschin Planetarium. It is also has telescopes, museum type exhibits and other cool things. (Leashed) Dogs are allowed outside on the grounds, but not in the building.

You might have seen Griffith Park on TV and in the movies. It was in  the TV shows Agent Carter,  Lucifer, McGyver and even NCIS: Los Angeles.  It was in movies too!  LaLa Land and most famously, Rebel Without a Cause have scenes filmed at Griffith Park.  There is even as monument to James Dean in the gardens! Mama was glad we picked the Griffith Park and Observatory as one of our stops that day because she could finally get a picture of the Hollywood sign!

After we walked around and appreciated all the views and scenery, we hiked(or were carried :-)) back down the mountain and headed to our other LA stop.

Along the way to our next activity,  we passed the Bevery Hills Hotel.  Did you know the hotel was pet friendly? When I asked Mama if we could stay there for the night, she just laughed and said something about getting back to her after I had starred in my first movie. Seems a "cheap room" is over $800 PER NIGHT! Wowsers, I guess I'll have to wait until I am famous before we can stay there BOL!

For our next stop we decided to take a little walk along the famous Rodeo Drive!

We stopped to people watch and have a drink of water along the way. Even on a weekday(this was a Friday), the place was pretty crowded. Here we are in front of Dolce and Gabbana. Rosy wanted me to look at a nice "dog purse" for her but Mama said this place was WAY out of Rosy's price range!

We walked(or were carried) past lots of pretty flower arrangements. Mama and Daddy aren't shoppers, so we didn't stop in any stores....

But we sure enjoyed all the cool scenery and people!!!

Thanks for joining me(and Daddy) on our whirlwind tour of
L.A.. Mama says hopefully we can get back to LaLa Land in the winter when it's a bit cooler and less crowded!

We are joining our friends at  Comedy Plus for the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop this week!

  4. Looks like a fun quick trip. My mom used to be in LA a lot, but she said it was so crowded it wasn't a lot of fun. I doubt we will ever make it out to CA, so we will enjoy it through your photos.

  5. I enjoyed ALL the views of LA since I have never been there, I have seen most of these places you visited in movies over the years, and I must say. the best views of all were you being carried in Daddy's arms... I hope Rosy and Jake don't see these pics. they might get jealous

  7. Arty what fun fun fun in the La La Land sun you had. I love your bandanna with all the license plates on it.. I can see your dad loves you 2 hours and a bunch by the way he is holding you...and your adoration for him so precious.

BOL BOL BOL for $800.00 a night that hotel staff should anticipate your every need before you need it and be waiting at the door.

  8. $800 for one night? That's nearly two week's wages! Unless I win the lottery. In that case we can all stay there!
