My Birthday Adventure!

As promised today, on Nature Friday, I'm here to tell you about the Mama, Daddy and Birthday Boy Adventure I went on last Sunday!!

 Mama did not take me to the dogtur in Oregon, but instead took me to one of my favorite places for a good ocean walk;
Stone Lagoon!!

We've shown you this beach before. It's the one where we walk up the beach towards this big boulder.

Although I guess we could have walked the other way too. Both sides of this beach are beautiful.

I frequently paused to breathe in the ocean air and listen to the surf.
The ocean always makes me happy!!

The little balls of sand verbena are popping up everywhere now that the sun and warmer weather has arrived!

The beach morning glory is also in full bloom!  Most of them have little red spider mites running around them that gave Mama the willies!

During our walk back to the car we enjoyed searching the forest for elk. They like to come to Stone Lagoon...and some peeps have even seen them on the beach! Unfortunately, we didn't see any this trip.

It was a beautiful day and we did enjoy the green forest  against the blue skies!

Sometimes, we take for granted how lucky we are to live so close to so much natural beauty...

After spending much of the late Winter and Spring couped up in the house,  we are vowing to get out and enjoy nature more often this summer!

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE  to go to our Hoppity Page.

  3. Wow Arty that was a most wonderful birthday walk. Gail says she would love to take me to a Pacific beach in Northern California or Oregon, but I guess that's never going to happen.
Oh and aren't those flowers clever, growing on the shingle in the salty air.
    Happy Nature Friday!

  5. Mom says living on the North Sea Coast was really nice, walking on the beach, letting dogs swim, etc, but here that isn't going to happen. Beautiful walk, and what a great way to celebrate your birthday!

  12. What a super birthday beach adventure. Sure sounds better than any vet visit. Love the sand verbena images. You do live in a beautiful area. Have a great weekend (and I hope you're still celebrating the birthday).

  13. Going to the beach beats going to the doctor any day, Arty. It looks like you had a lot of fun with Mama.

Lightning was at the vet's yesterday for a number of issues, and now he has to go see an eye specialist just like you. The vet is concerned that his corneal dystrophy is getting worse and wants another opinion.

  14. Going to your favorite place is a great birthday gift. We've never been to the beach. I hope I wouldn't be afraid if I went. Angel Lexi used to go with her cousins Piper and Milo and Aunty Jen and Mommy. XOX Xena
