Stormy Skies Over Joshua Tree NP

Did you know that it storms in the desert??
That's right, during our visit to Joshua Tree NP, it went from blue skies....

 ...to dark and stormy skies!

The dark skies looked beautiful against the desert ground!

The rains moved all around where we were!

It was so cool watching the different cloud formations.

The sun came out, even when it was raining!!

Even with all those stormy skies, we never got rained on!

A definite win, win situation!

Thanks for watching the skies with us today!
Join us next Tuesday when we wrap up our Joshua Tree adventure!

We hope you all get to see some interesting skies this weekend!
Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE to go to our Hoppity Page.

  1. Wow, those are great photos of the storm clouds! Gail was taught at school that the definition of a desert is a place that gets less than 10 inches of rain per year, but she's not sure whether this is still the official rule.
Here in Scotland, we are not, by any conceivable definition, in a desert.

  4. Came here from Gail's blog. Stunning pictures - reminds me of my rock climbing days - Joshua tree was (still is, no doubt) a centre of excellence for the sport.

  5. Storms over the desert reminded Mom of something years ago called Desert Storm, but I guess that was totally not the same thing. Cloud formations can be super cool, just like you two! Happy Friday!

  7. I 187% agree with YAM Mother Nature was quite dramatic. You know auntie loves clouds and such. The photo from CeCe's back window was spectacular well all were but that one especially

  9. If we only looked at the top part of your pictures, we could say it looked just like that yesterday here in WNY! Heavy clouds, but no rain. (Isn't there a song by that name?)
